Non Per Girare

This is Giorgia Meloni, the new prime MInister of Italy.

The media is referring to her as “Far Right” – or, in moments of revelatory candor, “Fascist”.

Check out the speech. You be the judge – while you still can.

And remember – if William F. Buckley, Jack Kemp, Barry Goldwater, Margaret Thatcher, Ronald Reagan, Lech Wałęsa and Newt Gingrich were coming onto the scene today, they’d all be called “fascists” too.

How do we know that?

Because they said it back then, too.

  1. It is possible that I would tire of throwing leftist trash out of 🚁

    But I’d never have regrets.

  2. Guys — oh and you too Woolly, I think when the Mussolini woman says “financial speculators” I don’t think she actually means financial speculators.

  4. Guys — oh and you too Woolly, I think when the Mussolini woman says “financial speculators” I don’t think she actually means financial speculators.

Oh, and I’ll say the same about the Democrats that were decrying financial speculation back in 2008/9. I like this game. I knew the guys who backed Sarbanes-Oxley were all wearing little eraser mustasches!

  6. We all know how friendly liberals are towards “financial speculators.”
Emery has his stupid hat on today.

  8. the Mussolini woman

So, yet another Emery shows up to reiterate that Meloni is a fascist. After a different Emery denied it and the first Emery insinuated it. All bases covered!

  9. Historical ignorance is the currency of the day on the Left:

Nazi propaganda minister Joseph Goebbels records in his journal his contempt for the Italians’ treatment of Jews in Italian-occupied territories. “The Italians are extremely lax in their treatment of Jews. They protect Italian Jews both in Tunis and in occupied France and won’t permit their being drafted for work or compelled to wear the Star of David.”

  10. Isn’t it funny that the un-elected German woman who heads the EU (Ursula Von der Leyen) has taken the extremist position of threatening to withhold funds from the Democratically elected government of Italy.
Truly hilarious. The fascists who believe that speech should be controlled by giant, multi-national corporations are now arguing over the proper definition of the word “fascist.”

  11. Here is the list of things that make you a far right extremist these days:
-Believe that Hitler is the Fuhrer.
-Believe that hook-nosed Jews secretly control the world.
-Swearing your allegiance to Blood and Soil.
-Wearing a white robe, white pointy hood, and calling yourself “Exalted Cyclops of the KKK” (note exception for Democrat politicians).
-Believe that only women can become pregnant and bear children.

Meloni fell afoul of that last one. No hope for her, string her up from the nearest lamp post.

  13. Can you believe that Meloni thinks that gays should not be allowed to adopt children?
    Not even pretty little boys?
    Fascism!

  14. It turns out that Meloni’s Brothers of Italy party has the same relationship to Mussolini’s Fascist party as the opposition Italian Democrat Party has to the Stalinist Italian Communist Party, so once again, we are caught in a deranged moral panic of the media.

  15. Another reason the elites hate Meloni:
And therefore, in full coherence, the forthcoming Italian Prime Minister Meloni announces now the establishment of a parliamentary commission of inquiry on what she calls “the disastrous management of the pandemic”, a commission in front of which “everyone will be called to assume their responsibilities”, and that fixed as “one of the first things we will do at the beginning of the next legislature”.

The elites are terrified that might be held accountable for their abuse of power. It’s part of the glue that holds their contingency-compromise-consensus model together.
