Urban Progressive Privilege: Their Own Dog Food

Governors Abbot (TX) and DeSantis (FL) sendig illegal immigrants to New York, DC and – major kudos to DeSantis here – the epicenter of Urban Progressive Privilege, Martha’s Freaking Vineyard.

The Vineyardians are not amused:

The bleating of the likes of Fernandes (to say nothing of NYC Mayor Adams and DC Mayor Bowser) is pure Berg’s Seventh Law: Big Left’s notion of “helping” illegals is like the PJ O’Rourke’s recounting of Tipper Gore’s account of a drive with the Gore kids through a blighted part of DC; the kids observations prompted Tipper to…

…start a group to plug for public funding for more homeless charities.

The squirming, deflection and projection is glorious.

“But Mitch – those are human beings!”

To me? Yes.

To you? Maybe.

To Big Left’s pols? Not in the least. They are votes and news cycles on the hoof.

  1. Mitch, you are a headline late. Abbott outdid DeSantis!

2 migrant buses arrive outside Vice President Kamala Harris’ Naval Observatory residence in DC

  2. The Left: “Republicans are playing politics with people’s lives! They’re using these undocumented migrants as pawns!”

AND what has the Left done since forever?

Methinks the Left yearns for the good ol’ days when the country-club Republican types just rolled over and took the browbeating, as if somehow, someday, the media would give them a fair shake and the Left wouldn’t hate them. Now that more pols with an R next to their name are seeming to acknowledge that they’re in a damned-if-you-damned-if-you-don’t situation, and acting accordingly, the Left cries foul.

Don’t like it when our side is as ruthless than yours, huh? Go figure.

  3. jpa; The bus loads arriving outside the VP residence is a good jab no doubt.

But dropping off a few loads of illegals at Martha’s Vineyard (part of a sanctuary State) where the median home value is more than $1.3M is kick in the privates of the sanctimonious NIMBY hypocrites. I think a far greater effect vs dropping them off in Boston or DC.

  4. Oh, I disagree jpa.

If I’m not mistaken, and I never am, I believe I recommended the Vineyard as a drop off point in these very comments a week ago or so.

Kameltoe won’t ever have to see them, but the botox bimbos of Martha’s Vinyard might not only see them, but might actually have some of those smelly brown people approach them whilst they are luncheoning in town with friends.

I think the next target destination *must* be Marblehead. That’s where the really old money is. If it were up to me, I’d have the Coast Guard land them on the beach and set up relief tents.

  5. The Tijuana-Martha’s Vineyard Airlift has made the front page of the NYT. Score that one epic win.

  6. How about the Hamptons? Hell! Drop em off at the gates of the Ivy League universities! They should enjoy the unwashed masses, too.

  7. the bus dropped them off but the illegal immigrants dont know where they are and have no food or water wow how inhumane like being dumped in the middle of the desert how will they ever survive

of course its the richest neighborhood in the world so not exactly a food desert more like an authentic street taco desert no decent refried beans for miles talk about hardship

definitely send them to every iv league but dont forget carlton and macalaster those do gooders need a chance to prove how caring they are by taking illegals into their dorm rooms and feeding them in the cafeteria excellent opportunity to practice your spanish language skills girls

  8. Genius move by De Santis. Can some be sent to Minneapolis and St Paul, both huge “sanctuary cities?” In fact, make a list of every sanctuary city in the US and start the buses rolling. From each according to his ability, to each according to his need, I believe is how the phrase goes. Messed up the pronouns of course. I’m wearing charcoal speckled running shorts and a Smith College T shirt.

  9. John;
    Actually, I would like to make up a flyer to leave on the doors of everyone that has a DemoCommie campaign sign in their yards,?that says something along the lines of;

    Hello Fellow Democrat!

Thank you for supporting our policies of inflation, high gas prices, vilification of evil Republican terrorists, money laundering in Ukraine, arming our enemies with nuclear energy and moving to expensive electric vehicles. You obviously realize that unless we replace all of our fossil fuel powered transportation with vehicles that are significantly more harmful to the environment, all of our lakes will flood our houses and neighborhoods. We will be dropping an illegal invader family of from 2 to 6 or 7, to your house within the week. Take good care of them, lest we send the Gestapo, I mean FBI to your house.
    Let’s go Brandon!

  10. Hey am I the only one who noticed that as soon as it was established only young boys and faggots were getting it, Monkeypox fell right the fuck out of the news?

    Crazy, right?

  11. ok, ok… the MV meltdown is much more fun to watch than illegals telling the news they walked across the open, oops… secure border. Hope TX, FL And AZ send more there, with a big sign, “Thank you for Welcoming Us! Heeeere’s Juan!”

  12. Blade, what do you imagine the chances are that the young, adopted son of a gay couple in their thirties will get monkey pox versus me, a hetero guy in his early 60s?
A million times more likely? A billion?

  13. Inhumane?!? Hell, dump me off in MV anytime……and September is an especially nice time to be in Cape Cod. Offseason, too, so there should be plenty of vacancies…..

  15. I also must add this…..I searched CNN yesterday (9/14) and could find NO mention of the migrant bussing story…..then today….TaDa!

What’s amazing is that they’re actually reporting on the facts….

“Are they being forced on the buses and planes? No, they are not.
Anger at the stunts is in part also fed by the idea that the people are being forced onto buses. That is not true, as CNN’s Gary Tuchman found when he visited a shelter in Eagle Pass, Texas, in August.

He met asylum-seekers planning to meet up with family and friends already spread around the country. Other migrants coming to the US without somewhere to go were happy for the free trip.”

One thing they have deleted is the homeless social worker on MV (what a great job, huh?) stating that 50 illegals will overwhelm the housing on the island. Damn, what a sweet gig that must be…..

  16. In the same spirit of visiting upon the elite what the rest of the unwashed have to suffer, why not a shit-in on Pelosi’s driveway or a pee-in at the White House?

I mean, there are no consequences for crapping on the streets of San Fran or DC, right?

How about a homeless camp on Walz’s front lawn? Actually on all his front lawns, including the Governor’s manor, personal address and any vacation homes he may own.

    All are welcome, right?

  17. The better question to ask is why are Democrats shipping illegal aliens to Red states?
First, they hope to crash Red state economies and gain political power in these states.
Second, they don’t want South American refugees because they are fleeing from socialist states. They are not reliable Democratic voters. Too many refugees and Blue states start flipping to Red.

  18. Slow Joe Biden is now on the record saying that what Abbot and DeSantis have done is “unAmerican.”
Thank God no one cares what Slow Joe thinks!
For some reason bussing illegals to liberal enclaves really annoys the regime, so keep it up, Abbot and De Santis!

  19. UMMP,
What’s even more infuriating is that while at least 10 American citizens are being held in DC jail, tormented by racist guards and denied due process for 18 months, his corrupt cabal is worried about an anti-American WNBA lesbian being detained for actually breaking the laws of another country.

  20. I don’t know why the lefties are complaining – the illegals certainly aren’t. There is a labor shortage on the Vineyard and Desantis just provided an additional 50 ready and willing folks to help buttress the labor pool. All those dropped off will have a paycheck in 48 hours or less should they want/need one.

MV residents should be thanking the Governor for helping them to assure their pools are cleaned, their food is cooked, their houses are cleaned and their landscapes are maintained.

  21. dang, I mean bussing, not nationalizing oil refineries. BN, get with the program and if you gonna threadjack, at least label it OT!

  22. I’ve noticed that the people defending the Martha’s Vineyard stunt do so almost exclusively by reference to what the people of that island, or that state, or the government deserve, without any reference or recognition of the people transported as humans.

  23. …reference to what the people of that island, or that state, or the government deserve, without any reference or recognition of the people transported as humans
    You’re right, rAT.

The Martha’s Vineyard river runners deserve to be sent right back to where they came from, as humans.

    How’s that?
