Location, Location, Location

Remember – if you don’t live in Minneapolis, Jacob Frey and Keith Ellison don’t believe you are entitled to an opinion about the future of policing in Minneapolis.

But on other issues

I guess it’s just the right people from out of town that are entitled to an opinion.

  1. I’m entitled to an opinion. I drove a Kenworth truck in the oil fields, you know.

No, seriously, I did, in the Badlands of North Dakota during the late 80’s oil boom. Crude oil was pumped out of the ground, stored in tanks at the well head, loaded into tanker trucks and driven to Williston where it was unloaded into the pipeline.

That pipeline ran all the way across North Dakota to Clearbrook, Minnesota, where it turned South and ended at that stinky oil refinery on Hwy 52 on the way to Rochester. There, it’s turned into gasoline and delivered to service stations in the Twin Cities.

That was 40 years ago and the pipeline wasn’t new, then. It needs updating and replacing. This is not new, untested technology. It is not a new route across sacred Indian lands. It is not an eyesore, an environmental threat, or a needless expense. This is infrastructure, part of the national energy grid. Instead of protesting the pipeline, Democrats ought to be funding it. For our future. For our children.

  2. While the physics of sunlight and carbon dioxide are rock solid, the hysteria over global warming is driven by religious superstition.

David Hume summed up this sort of fundamentalism best in the 18th century as:

actively pernicious, prompting its adherents to adopt overzealous habits and practices that were contrary to the true interests of society.

  3. BPct, the crowd of millions is behind the yellow line, where they belong, lest they get too close to the anointed saviours.

  4. I’m wondering if Warren Buffet’s people are behind these faux protests? After all, those BNSF tank cars are now carrying a lot of that oil, need to keep going, lest his profits suffer.

Further, these Native Americans that are bitching about broken treaties, yada, yada, never address the mountains of trash that the protesters leave behind.

  5. What you are seeing here is performance art by minstrels, played for white people.

  6. The squad’s entire legislative agenda is to propose pie in the sky BS so they can inevitably complain that the system is broken when they’re laughed out of the room.

  7. Apparently, Governor Chicken was run out of Alexandria by climate jihadists today. As soon as he started speaking, they started chanting that he was a climate denier, etc. He and his goons jumped into their gas guzzling Suburbans and hauled ass out of town. Of course, the jihadists celebrated their win by intimidation, claiming that “direct action gets the goods!” But hey, after all of the butt kissing morons like Wimpy Walz have done for these miscreants, it served him right.
