Because science!
(Note for bobbleheads: It would be appropriate for Nye to explain why he’s reversed course; since he styles himself a “Science Guy”, perhaps he’d include some evidence that led to his conclusion, rather than just a perfunctory flush of the memory toilet.

Arguing from biology would be tough, as gender dysphoria really is a psychiatric diagnosis derived from observed behaviors. Good for Nye just to put things down the memory hole, as trying to make a reasoned point would just torpedo whatever is left of his credibility.
