When politicians start referring to polities as “one” of anything, you know you’ve got a problem on your hands; in this case, a one-party city that feels perfectly find using city government as an extension of Democrat party politics.

I imagine “Mayor Betsy” would be totally down with giving the English version of that speech.
Sadder still, most of Minneapolis is cool with the idea of Idiot-Führungsprinzip.

Troy,
When someone gets one of my cross-language plays on words, an angel gets their…well, not wings, maybe. Tennis shoes. There. That’s it.

NOTE FROM MITCH: Again, I’m going to let a Dog Gone comment out of moderation limbo because, frankly, it migh be an educational moment for other liberals who read this blog.
She is otherwise still in moderation limbo, until she shows some indication that she’s ready to deal with my request of her. What is that request? That’d involve having read this exchange over the past six months, which she clearly has not.
Back to DG:
———-
Really? I thought the same premise as represented by “e pluribus unum” was a great idea. Unum = united, like United States, ergo, patriotic.
Given the problems on the Minneapolis campus of the U of Mn with Trump era right wing acceptance and rise of neonazis and other antisemitic white supremacists related incidents, I see this as a positive gesture by Hodges. Not an exercise in partisan politics – unless your lot is squirming because you have embraced the bad guys?

Good grief, Mitch. Forget the moderation queue — Dog has completely lost the plot.

“One out of many” refers to states, not individuals.
The notion that any large group of people would have a unity of interests is ridiculous. You have to be a totalitarian to believe that the political state represents the legitimate interests of both labor and capital.

Funny, Dog Breath,
The only hate mongering has been from the degenerate lunatics on your side, but then you knew that. You are too ignorant to admit it.
April 17th, 2017 at 1:37 pm
So the party of identity politics wants to talk about “being one”?
April 17th, 2017 at 2:02 pm
It strikes me that my joke about Dog Gone guzzling Mad Dog in a St. Paul park near the river is closer to the truth than it ought to be….ouch! A revival of neonazis (national “socialists”, by the way, DG, hint hint) and antisemitic incidents? Not on the right, DG.
Hint, hint.

DG,
First of two comments for you. Do read them.
First, a response:
Really? I thought the same premise as represented by “e pluribus unum” was a great idea. Unum = united, like United States, ergo, patriotic.
As has been noted above, you have the history of that saying wrong. And even in a more expansive sense – “from many ideas, points of view and worldviews, one polity” – it doesn’t apply; Hodges is not combining all points of view. She’s ignoring all but that of her supporters.
Her administration has focused entirely on sorting people into identity-based groups, though. Her “one” isn’t “E Pluribus Unum so much as it is “Ein Volk, Ein Stadt, Ein Buergermeisterin, and the meeting would seem to be a matter of “Gott Strafe Trump.
Given the problems on the Minneapolis campus of the U of Mn with Trump era right wing acceptance and rise of neonazis and other antisemitic white supremacists
The “rise” has been almost entirely false flags from the left. If you can show me any exceptions – and I’m sure you can google a few up – they are dwarfed by the hoaxes.
Given your own stated predilection for impersonating a Republican precinct caucus leader, you’re not only one to comment about it, but you should perhaps be looked into as a perpetrator.
Not an exercise in partisan politics – unless your lot is squirming because you have embraced the bad guys?
You’re showing how very un-serious you are with this statement.
Using the office of mayor to set the city – whose residents aren’t all DFL supporters – against the sitting president is nothing but partisan.
More below.

DG,
I’ve officially had enough.
You’ll be blocked completely until you contact me about adhering to my comment section policies. No more playing around, no more second chances, no more tactful hints, no more asking.
You’ve abused my tolerance for years, now. I’ve given you warnings.
I don’t care that you condescend to all and sundry without earning it. I don’t care that you disagree. I do care that you dump and run without any discussion of your constant – no, universal lack of any semblance of fact, treating my comment section like your blog, only with traffic.
It’s over.
Contact me offline. You have my address.
There will be no other warnings or mentions of this.

The Rabbi of that place is an incredibly tedious person to talk to on twitter.

Sewing up the Leftjwish base will cost her muzzy votes. Gorsuch sat in on his first SCOTUS case today. Leftist thugs got their asses handed to them in Berkely last Saturday .
Is it the end times for the reprobate left? Maybe not, but why wait? I’m encouraging all of my leftist friends to take their lives now.
Burning too many bodies at once will make global warming worse, right?

“Burning too many bodies at once will make global warming worse, right?”
think renewable, they can be recycled
There’s a lot of water to be reclaimed and under the right harvesting procedures, a great source of methane

DG is this what you’re referring to on the UofM campus?

The lack of amusement in observing her derangement is far offset by the lack of having to observe her derangement.

I think that she took that post off Pen blog.
She is unhinged. DG claimed to have gone to a GOP caucus, volunteered to be secretary, and then proceeded to lecture the caucus attendees on voter fraud. She actually wrote that she would have been able to change their minds if she had only thought to bring her printouts with her.
I think that she is mentally ill.

“I think that she took that post off Pen blog.”
yeah I went looking for that one a couple months ago and couldn’t find it.
she has definitely thrown a bunch of her “pen” posts down the memory hole.
One of my favorites that disappeared over a year ago was this incredibly vicious anti-catholic screed from a few years back that was like something from a 1920s era KKK tract – in summary she did NOT stop short of recommending murderous cultural cleansing.
