I Miss Jesse Ventura

By Johnny Roosh

Not for his steroid nutritional supplement-induced ramblings…rather for the one thing (at least that I can remember) he did for us as governor…

I wrote the check for my license plate tabs this week.

That’s 50% of the good things he did. The other 50% was getting fireworks more dramatic than those little white poppers and black snakes and champagne bottle poppers legalized again. Still somewhat lame since rockets and explosives are still banned, but better than pre-Janosz.

I seem to remember in the “DFL found their oats” tax orgy from last year, someone somewhere wanted to remove Ventura’s leftover tab fees program to go back to soaking the rich and having a progressive fee schedule based on value.

  2. Scott Hughes Says:

I miss him for his tissue thin skin, and disdain for the “Jackals”.

Bill and Johnny are leaving out one very key element of his service as governor of Minnesota…

…he shook up the people that took elections for granted when it came to a persom named Humphrey.

Of course, that task was over minutes after the election results were announced.

  5. Right Says:

How is Jesse’s choo-choo doing? Paying for itself yet? Has it solved any traffic problem?

  6. Loren Says:

But Johnny, he did not do it for us, he did it for himself. We just also benefited.

Loren we benefited how? Congestion levels in that corridor (35/hiawatha) did not improve. Travel on Hiawatha is generally worse, especially during rush hours as you keep getting hosed by the choo-choo taking over the lights. We must subsidize 2/3rd of every ride. With the same amount of money we could have upgraded 35 and Hiawatha and added more capacity with carpool lanes and Rapid Bus. Upgrading 35 would have far better economic return and be more flexible to meet changing needs in the future. Instead we have a fixed trolly with high overhead costs that serves a very small segment of the community to make a few people feel good.

And, lest we forget, provides the DFL with a perpetual funding stream from public service union dues.
