Two Good Guys – One With A Gun, One A Dead Hero

Two men tried to rob a jewelry store in a mall in San Antonio, Texas.

One Good Samaritan tried to intervene – and was killed in the process.

What could possibly go wrong? Accused mall shooter Jason Matthew Prieto.

That’s when a second Good Samaritan – a good guy with a carry permit and a gun – intervened, shooting one suspect and the other one fleeing like the prison shower-room bitch he no doubt is.

The suspects – including Jason Matthew Prieto, shown above, who is alleged to have fled the scene but wound up crashing his car – are up for capital murder.  Much as I oppose the death penalty, I doubt I’ll be found protesting if the State of Texas ever does end up executing them (should they be found guilty).

Six others were injured in the encounter with robbers before police could arrive.

So there were two good guys.  One had courage, but no gun; he is no longer with us.  One had courage and the means to back that courage up with force.  He – and others – are alive today.

    You shoulda posted an account how the other six got injured. Death penalty is too humane a punishment.

    This is a good place to make an unsolicited testimonial.

    A friend of mine just bought a new American Tactical Industries .45 1911. He’d seen more and more of these things around, and everyone says they’re great. My friend went to look at one during lunch yesterday, and at >$400, bought one.

    That’s right, a 1911 under $400; out the door.

    These things are wonderful. Nice tight lockup, very nice Parkerization, polished feed ramp and sweet trigger. Shooting it last night, my friend found the windage perfect out of the box, but it was shooting about 3″ low of the point of aim. A little light dusting on the front sight blade with a file and Bam…<4" groups at 15 yards; all day long.

    My friend has owned inexpensive .45's before, and considers the ATI far superior to such stalwarts as Rock Island and Springfield Armory.

    The ATI .45; don't go to the shopping mall without one.
