Liberals resent the Constitution because the requirement to wait around for Congress to act constrains the President from doing good things for the country on his own initiative.
But for that pesky old scrap of parchment, the President would be doing all the things he won the Nobel Peace Prize for. If only he had the power to act.
In other words, they want a king.

  3. Do people not notice that the president always complains about congress not being willing to “work with Him”? That is, He does not complain about the congress not working, His complaint is that they will not give Him the blind obedience He feels entitled to … and assumes we all feel He is entitled to …

    Time to strut around wearing the leather bomber jacket and act like all this military action was planned, by Him (of course), long, long ago …

  4. They want a king until they realize that “Occupy Wall Street” types tend not to do very well with monarchs, especially those whose behavior is not limited by a Constitution.

    One would have hoped that progressives would realize that Jerry Ford was right when he commented that a government big enough to give you everything you want is also big enough to take it all away, but we’re still waiting for that Antoich moment for them, apparently.

  5. Liberals will accept no bounds on their power. It’s a nietzschean thing. They are now in favor of sending openly gay scoutmaster on overnight campouts with teenage boys, and sending young women to fight in foxholes (no military need identified for this).

    Obama is following the Constitution. If the right had anything on him, they’d be doing more than playing around with political theater and frivolous law suits that lack standing.

    Obama is NOT abusing his office, and no, there is no abuse, other than in right wing fevered imaginations, of executive powers.

    Too bad the right wing hypocrites didn’t get as upset with the LAST president, the one they elected, for ACTUAL ABUSES.

    While he blamed the rise of the Republican far right for extinguishing so many potential compromises, Obama also acknowledged that gerrymandering, the Balkanization of the news media and uncontrolled money in politics — the guts of our political system today — are sapping our ability to face big challenges together, more than any foreign enemy. “Increasingly politicians are rewarded for taking the most extreme maximalist positions,” he said, “and sooner or later, that catches up with you.”

    It isn’t true that communism and fascism are two sides of the same coin. Commies tend to look inward, at the people they control for enemies. fascists look outward, towards people they don’t control, to find enemies.
    George Bush never talked about his fellow Americans as his enemies.
    We know what Obama is, don’t we?

    The frightening thing is I really think that you do believe that stuff, and you aren’t just carrying water for the Community Organizer, or the Party.

    In 1999 it was clearly demonstrated that the President went and broke the law for his own gain. In that case you should’ve had all 435 members of the House and all 100 senators voting Clinton out of office.

    Since the Democrats want Obama in office and doing the things that they want him to do like grant amnesty they will ignore the law and what is right to do by not voting for impeachment.

    By the way one of the crimes that Richard Nixon was being impeached for was using the IRS against his enemies. Here the IRS is clearly going after the President’s enemies far worse then they ever did when Nixon is in charge. Not only aren’t the Democrats outraged they were begging the IRS to do it!

  12. Doggone, let’s give Mr. Google a try and see if you can find any examples of executive orders not authorized by law or the Constitution. One of my favorite examples violates neither, really, but (54mpg gas mileage mandate) does happen to violate the laws of physics.

    So Dear Leader gets a hat trick, really, by violating the Constitution, the law of the land, and the laws of physics.
