Class Warfare

When I say “righties, please keep this in perspective”, this is what I”m talking about – Joe “Learned Foot” Tucci at KAR writes:

For those leftybloggers out there trolling for a little schadenfreude, that’s all I got. Sorry. He is my president. He was elected, not selected. Somewhere in south Chicago there isn’t a village missing an idiot. My happiness is not dictated by who’s in office. I’m still an adult, and you’re still a spittle-chucking rage-addicted child. What Nihilist said.

And what did Nihilist say?

Now we conservatives are free to adapt the tactics of the left, to abandon reason and make inflammatory proclamations with regard to our new chief executive.

I want to be first. I want to say something so antithetical to the beliefs of the MoveOn, Kos, Olberman nuts that it will give them a taste of what they put us through for eight years. Here goes.

Tonight I say a PRAYER for our new President-elect, Barak Obama. I hope GOD will guide his decisions and give him the strength and wisdom to lead America forward. I also PRAY for our leaders in Congress, that GOD may watch over them too. I realize that this may be too much for the nuts to bear, but tonight I PRAY for them too. To paraphrase Jeramiah Wright (sort of):

GOD bless America? Yeah, what the heck! GOD bless America!

What they said.

    All I can say is that Chairman Obama and his terrorist pals better watch their backs, before Chilary! stabs him in the back and you find him in Vince Foster’s park amongst the ACORNS.

    Still raw.

  2. Slash,
    I think we’ve got to really see the obvious silver lining. It is very possible that the Clintons are well and truly done.

    Folks say Republican voters and conservatives lost last night. Hell no, baby! We’ve see the Clintons defeated, some moderate Republicans and RINOs out of power, and some conservative measures passed.

    This is cause for celebration!
    Plus, we’ve got a black guy in office starting in late January. Maybe he works out. If he picks the wrong plans, those that backed him will possibly lose their seats.

    Where’s the down side?

  3. Praying is what all of should be doing now for Obama and his misguided liberal, illuminati elitists that they are guided by God and make the right decisions for our country. But I fear his “God” is the Democratic party and the Chicago political machine. Couple that with the ilk of Pelosi and Reid, I have little hope that Obama will let himself be guided by anyone but them.

  4. Oi, Angie… perhaps a quote from Stripes is called for:
    “Lighten up, Francis.”

    He’s not even near the swearing-in ceremony and you’re going after him. Give him a chance to fail before you go after him.

    Remember eight years ago? Remember four years ago? Remember all the hand-wringers, left-leaners, vicious whiners, and all of the “Not My President” bumperstickers? Surely you still see the “1-20-09” bumperstickers.

    Sit on that for a while. Think about that. Consider how effing useless that is.

    We are the party that knows how to lose with dignity and civility and class. Now pipe down and go get your effing shinebox. Give the guy six months in office before you say anything snide about the guy.

    Better yet, curb your tongue for the next four years unless shit really goes south.

  5. So what you’re saying is that I won’t see a “Buck oFama” bumber sticker on your Volvo?

  6. Note to Badda: You’re so full of it your eyes are brown!! Obama has been a Senator for four years, but hasn’t been the main sponsor of any legislation during that time and you think he’s qualified to be President? You overlooked his associations with terrorists like Ayers & Wright, his outright lying, his illegal voter fraud, etc. His taxes are going to kill any growth in this country and the worst is his stance on partial birth abortion. And yet you want this man for President? You have no common sense, just like the rest of those looney liberal, illuminati extremists in Washington. Maybe it will take a big tax hit in your wallet before you get any sense, but I don’t think I can live that long to see it!!

  7. Condescending note to Angie:

    My eyes are brown, but that has nothing to do with the surplus amount of shit in any of my above statements.

    You claim I’ve “overlooked” something. Where? All I said was that you should probably go get your effing shinebox. The guy was elected, now give him a chance to fail before you declare him to be an utterly worthless politician.

    Give
    Him
    The
    Chance
    Left-Leaners
    Didn’t
    Give
    G.W.

    You evidently have no clue what any of my political beliefs are… which makes you about as useful as Peev. Or nipples on men.

    You could easily look them up. You could also ASK me before you shoot your mouth off even further.

    Now, try making some sense… and perhaps READING what I have actually posted. Here and elsewhere.

    Then you can move to Canada. Sarandon and Baldwin apparently have a timeshare in Vancouver. They haven’t been there much, so it should be clean.

  8. Angie:

    Since Badda no longer contributes at Anti-Strib (and is a Maiden fan) I have no compunction about jumping to his side now.

    This bit is particularly stupid:

    “And yet you want this man for President?”

    He never said that. And I’m certain he didn’t. But this is important:

    HE WON THE ELECTION AND HE WILL BE THE PRESIDENT. ACCEPT IT.

    Badda has figured it out along with every other conservative / Republican who has too much of a life to waste time hand-wringing and pearl clutching over circumstances beyond their control.

    Seriously, take a pill, grow up and stop embarrassing us.

  9. Learned & Badda-
    Geez you guys are under the spell. The people that voted for Obama expecting a little sugar at least had their best interests at heart. The guy is not experienced enough to be the senator from Illinois, let alone the prez. The one error Angie Smith made in her post was that she said Obama had been a senator for four years. Wrong. He’s been a senator for less than two years, and most of that time he’s been busy running for prez.
    His national political career is built on his speech to the democratic convention he gave in 2004. That and the fact that he was editor of his grad school law journal.
    The man is an academic socialist turned politician. He deserves only the respect a grimy professional pol deserves.

  10. Terry,
    Who is disputing that? I’m not, but I’m somehow under the Obama spell?!?!?!

    The error Angie made was that she’s coming on a little too strong against a guy who hasn’t yet been sworn in.

    Now, if she wants to begin impeachment proceedings against the guy, buy a “Not My President” bumperstiker, and start from a position of hostility… she’s no ally of mine.

    Please take the time to go back and re-read what I’ve actually said and see if there is anything with which you take issue.

    Feel free to quote. It might help.

  11. Let me try this quote, Badda:
    “Give
    Him
    The
    Chance
    Left-Leaners
    Didn’t
    Give
    G.W.”

    Why? Give Obama the chance to do what?

  12. Why not, he’s going to be the President. He hasn’t even been sworn in yet.

    You and Angie seem to think I’m unaware of Obama’s stated intentions and those of folks who support him. Is that the case?

    In addition, why (dear God, why) should you start things off going after his blood?

  13. Perhaps I should quote Sequel from the Anti-Strib:

    If the right can stick to ripping BHO on policy, and the left can refrain from labeling every critisizm as racist, we’ll be fine.

    If the BHO presidency implodes as I suspect it might, it’s not his race that will be savaged but rather his liberalism/socialism.

    BHO may do the same thing for liberalism that Carter did; make a profane name that democrats have been running from for 30 years.
    ~~~
    Now, if you want to continue defending Angie and claim that I’m under the spell of Obama (with no evidence whatsoever) for simply acting civil and classier than left-leaners from the fever swamp… be my guest.
    I’m not Peev. That’s the attitude he’s exhibited over the past few years… and he can keep it.
  14. Badda, the problem I have with peev (and suspect most of the folks that comment at SITD) is not his attitude, but his focused, purposeful stupidity and his error-filled writing.
    Peev bad. Malkin, coulter, okay.
    I’m going to begin painting some plywood (home improvemnt project) so i’ll be away from the keyboard for awhile but I’m interested in carrying on with this discussion.
    McCain lost like a gentleman. The country would have been better off if he’d fought for the presidency like non-com rather than an officer.
  15. Great… but we might need to keep an eye on that link. I think we’re going to be off the main page soon.
    I don’t see any disagreement yet… your recent comment is, again, something I can agree with. But it is beside the point.
    Good luck with the painting… see you when you get back.
  16. Badda, I’ got done with the paint — and then the wife decided she wanted me to take down a tree that was encroaching on her garden space. Lucky the tree wasn’t that big & the wind was blowing the right way so it didn’t take long.
    When I read your posts & Angie’s & strip the emotional content from them I think that the source of the disagreement is that you want to give an Obama adminastration a sort of honeymoon from acrimony and she does not.
    I side with Angie. You have to fight these bastards every step of the way. Obama is the duly elected president of the United States, but his policies, as outlined on http://change.gov/, are wholly disastrous. Negotiate with Syria and Iran on the future of Iraq? Required national service for elementary & college students?
    Obama is a skilled politician and he has learned from Alinsky & Ayers. He will do his best not to present a solid front against which his opposition can work. Example: he will not favor a return to a fairness doctrine, he will instead reduce the the time between license renewals to two years & make it easier for community groups to contest license renewals. Reinstating the fairness doctrine would give Obama’s enemies a rallying point. Opposition to reduced broadcast license periods & greater public oversight of broadcasters will do the work of the fairness doctrine without the acrimony.
    Obama is a hard-core socialist. He needs to encounter strong opposition from the first hour of the first day of his presidency.
  17. That might be it, however, it is much more that those folks on the left never gave GW a honeymoon and straight away started getting vicious.
    I don’t want to get vicious right away… if that’s a honeymoon, so be it. That doesn’t mean I’m not opposing the Obama administration.
    I’m just not going down the same road Angie appears to want to go (and accellerating from zero to sixty in 3.4 seconds).
    You can be the loyal opposition. He’s still going to be the president. I’m still going to be very conservative. You can oppose the president, his party, and their ideals without telling them to fuck off, get snarky, and turn into a child.
    Well, I can… but I don’t think Angie can.
