Meat Puppets

I vote Republican. I do it for a lot of reasons. It’s the party I agree with on *most* things, *most* of the time. The last Democrat I voted for was my mom.
I’ve always disagreed with the DFL on most things. And with todays DSA dominated version, there’s probably close to 110% disagreement.
I do try to keep things civil. It’d be nice to have our society not break out into civil war.
But here’s something where I get *genuinely* angry.
The DFL is using “the Annunciation Parents” like a bunch of meat puppets, trying to smear Lisa Demuth, claiming she “lied to them” about “promising” a gun control bill.
But the DFL went on to BLOCK school security funding, *especially* for non-district schools – which the Republicans unanimously supported, and COULD have done something to prevent shootings like Annunciation.
The DFL pushed, and would accept, ONLY laws that crap on the law-abiding citizen. And every single one of the gun-grab provisions they pushed *would*, inevitably, get shot down in court. Ask me how I know.
The DFL used those poor parents as props. At least, the ones they keep trotting out for press appearances. There ARE Annunciation parents who’ve gone on record saying they are *not* impressed by the DFL’s selective history or exploitation of tragedy and emotion.
It’s absolutely ghoulish.
