When [anything] created by people of color, irrespective of quality, constantly get[s] overlooked by institutions that are predominately comprised of white men, there is an implicit bias at work here,
Apparently participation trophies are not enough anymore, everyone should be a champion. I’m reminded of a comment by the coach of the Stillwater football team regarding the way MN State High School League has organized the various end of the season tournaments, something to the effect that it would be easier to just send a state championship trophy to every team in the state at the beginning of the season and then each team can send it back if they don’t think they deserved it.
