I noticed a lot of search engine referrals looking for info on former KSTP-AM nightsider Chris Krok. That’s usually a sign something’s going on.
Sure enough – he’s been gassed at WSB in Atlanta.
Hang in there, CK. It’s a crummy business.

Oddly enough, this news popped up whilst I was looking for some other junk. What is strange is that the guy received a broadcasting award while in Atlanta.
That’s strange for two reasons… one, because he’s a terrible broadcaster (or, at least he was in big time Minneapolis/good old St. Paul) and two, because the award suggests he made a real contribution to the radio station… why let a guy like that go?

I’d guess that even tho he got an award, his ratings were in the tank and he wasn’t bringing home enough ad revenue to lay the electric bills. But who knows…

He also took a nice Mark Knopfler tune and tainted it… much like the Indigo Girls, although Kroc didn’t ruin it by “singing” it.
