Shot in the Dark

Ask Not Why Steven Colbert Is Gone

Merely rejoice that he is gone.

Colbert – the unctuous and desperately un-funny little man who replaced David Letterman and became the standard-bearer for the collapse of late-night TV – is leaving the air after this season.

Oh no.

Pass the beer nuts.

Never watched the guy for more than a couple minutes live, and maybe a few clips – and when I did, I almost couldn’t tell if it was Jimmy Kimmel or Jimmy Fallon or Seth Meyers or pretty much anyone on late night but Craig Ferguson – who was funny – and Greg Gutfeld, who is flensing the Big Three in late night.

My interest is lessin the departure of…oh, look, I/ve already forgotten his name, and more in the way Big Left is trying to spin this.

Elizabeth Warren:

And for a completely different perspective, here’s Pramila Jayapal:

And now for something completely different; Adam Schiff:

Anyway – I’m not so much going to ask why he’s gone.

I’m merely going to celebrate the fact that he is gone.

Adios, un-funny man. You shall live forever in Dog Gone’s heart.

Colbert accuses his bosses of paying a “big fat bribe” as the scrolling chyron screams:

KIDS, DO NOT TRY THIS AT HOME

I wonder why they didn’t call the settlement by ABC and George Snuffleupagus gave Trump? There’s info coming out that he’s going after AOC next.

You guys did notice the cancellation isn’t until May of ’26, yes?

    JDM,
We know it’s not immediate, but I’m not sure the Democrats realize that yet.

jdm, I know it is a long way off, but I feel same as when my parents told me that next year I would be old enough to have a bicycle.

Same as the year before I got my driver license and that delicious feeling on my first day of senior high school knowing that soon it would all be over.

It is like when you know with certainty that wonderful things will happen.

As a matter of fact, yes, they did cancel the show for political reasons. Colbert sucked at political humor.

Odd how Warren and Schiff think Americans have a right to know if the cancellation was political, but they (and CBS) didn’t think Americans had a right to know the President was a senile incompetent.

The two most irritating words wver to come out of any leftist’s fetid pie hole: “America deserves..”

What they are saying is “me and my degenerate crew demand”

Well here’s my own two word rebuttal: “Fuck you”

Only downside to this is the slim possibility Colbert will come back to South Carolina.

Stay in NYC, pal. Stay with your people.

That’s actually pretty brilliant. Gonna borrow that.

And, on accasion, the rebuttal too.
