MN Rep. Leigh Finké (DFL-66A) apparently thinks that if hospitals can’t chemically neuter and surgically maim children, they shouldn’t offer care at all:
Nationwide, the Democrats failure to not look crazy harmed them immeasurably last November.
I’m mildly gratified to see they’re not backing off one iota.

I don’t see how they can. As I wrote in a previous thread, radicals often times take over socio-political organizations by depicting themselves as most true or pure members. The ones to whom all other members should obey if not defer. Islam is a classic example that never changes. The Chinese Cultural Revolution is another, although it did eventually peter out.
The DemoCommies, both nationally and locally, have been taken over by radicals who have their own agenda – heck, their own reality. Who among the Democrats is going to contest this?

That tactic is so tiresome. Everything is exaggerated to the extreme.
Republicans: “We spend too much on school administrators and not enough on actually teaching. We’re cutting the budget 1%.”
Democrats: “Cutting education funding proves you hate children and want them to die.”
Same with this hospital kerfuffle. Every hospital must offer trans surgeries. And Catholic hospitals must offer abortions. No exceptions for anything, ever, or it’s the End of the World as we Know It.
Tiresome.

The point of reference here is probably the Swedish study, along with the former head of Johns Hopkins psychiatry, that found that the “ROI” for transition is that if you castrate 19 confused men, one of them won’t need counseling. Johns Hopkins found no statistically significant correlation at all, and the Swedish study is practically insignificant. Suffice it to say that doing ROI that way probably won’t get you a corner office except in political circles!

One other note is that the reason the progressive left is pushing so hard for transition procedures on minors is because during the mid teen years, secondary sexual characteristics like hips and shoulders develop, and that’s why most “trans” people really don’t do a good job passing for their non-birth sex.
So if you ignore the fact that kids shouldn’t be making life-changing decisions like this, it sort of makes sense…
The response to this that I think would really impose some discipline is long statutes of limitations for civil penalties for hasty transition, and even criminal penalties. If you transition a kid, and he or she regrets it, say hello to poverty and maybe even the graybar hotel.
