If Voting In Minnesota
By Mitch Berg
Do the world a favor and vote against Karl Procaccini:

A friend of the blog notes, for those with shorter and less-photographic memories:
He was the legal architect of the lockdown in MN. His appointment was payback for his ability to defend any bad judgment policy Walz had, constitution be damned. Hack. Don’t vote for him, don’t leave it blank, vote for his opponent.
He’s basically Tim Walz’s hired legal help.
It’ll take a miracle to affect a SCOM race – but if we don’t work for miracles, they never happen.

Ah, he has an opponent. Good…. just went to check. It’s Matthew R. Hanson. So many of those judges – not to forget those Soil and Water Supervisors – run unopposed.
Good reminder. Thanks.
PS it’s kinda spooky how much Procaccini looks like CA state Senator Scott Wiener.

Payback? Nonsense. I’ve been assured Minnesota has a perfectly impartial and non-partisan judicial system.
It starts with the Judicial Selection Commission – appointed by the
Democrat Governor – which screens applicants according to statutory criteria – set by the Democrat controlled legislature – giving extra emphasis to women and minorities – who are largely Democrats – and recommends to the Democrat Governor the names of five finalists – almost always Democrats – from which the Democrat Governor appoints a judge.
Oddly, for such a completely impartial and non-partisan system, most of the judges appointed seem to be politically well connected. I wonder why? Probably just coincidence.

I’ve been seeing his ads on social media. He looks like the stereotype of a postmodernist man that it’s annoying. He’s no Byron White.
It’s not a problem to protest vote against him, rather than writing in a cat.

I’ve seen enough advertising that if it wasn’t a judicial race I’d think it was close.
Since it is a judicial race, I can only conclude that his campaign is designed more to “launder” donor money to his campaign staff and advertising contractor than it is to defend his seat on SCOMn.
