Shot in the Dark

This Is Today’s MNDFL

Judd Hoff has allegedly been stalking Minnesota State Representative Mary Franson for a while now.

“Stalking”, you say?

Yep.

He’s got kind of a colorful past (emphasis added), which has been recognized:

“Defendant approached Mr. Cornett with a machete pointed at him to instill fear so that he would comply with defendant’s command to return the flag,” she wrote. “As Mr. Cornett retreated, defendant approached. Defendant continued to keep pace with Mr. Cornett’s retreat all around his vehicle, into the street and back onto the sidewalk. Mr. Cornett felt sufficient fear of being stabbed or killed by defendant’s dangerous weapon, a machete, that he pulled his handgun. Even then, defendant did not stop.”

Oh, yeah – and he’s now the DFL-endorsed candidate running against Franson:

Not just endorsed. Endorsed unanimously.

This is today’s DFL .

Oh, yeah – I suspect that if the GOP endorsed a felon and someone very credibly alleged (with, say, footage they shot themselves, and a loooong social media record) to have stalked his female MNDFL opponent, the media would be humping the story’s leg.

UPDATE: Ken Martin, to his credit, at least rhetorically tried to distance himself from Hoff.

On the one hand, I don’t suspect the DFL is going to spend any money in 12B no matter who gets endorsed; Franson hasn’t faced a serious challenge since 2012, and she’s going to win the district by a 2:1 margin no matter who the DFL runs; with Hoff, it might be close to a three digit margin. .

But kudos to Martin; there is a bottom to the barrel below which the DFL won’t dig. John Thompson taught ’em something.

Well, some of them, anyway. Other DFLers, including this endorsed candidate, doubled down:

Which DFL will show up?

Allegedly, the DFL, under pressure of course, pulled their endorsement, with puppet master Kenny Martin declaring that “the kind of violence and threatening behavior that Mr. Hoff is engaged in, has no place in the Minnesota DFL party.” Funny though! John Thompson, who brought a mob to threaten Liz Collin and Bob Kroll in front of their house and gender confused Brion Curran, who endangered countless lives while driving under the influence, were just fine with them. I suspect that secretly, Kenny and the gang at the Minnesota Communist headquarters, were doing happy dances and giving each other high fives.

I also want to understand why he wasn’t arrested and charged for his actions locally and why the feds didn’t charge him with tampering with Mary’s signs? Last time I checked, that was a federal offense.

To the “unanimously endorsed” statement, that’s just Convention speak for “ran unopposed and endorsed by voice vote. Technically, Tom Emmer was endorsed “unanimously” after Marty Seifert withdrew and called for a voice vote of the Convention.
    What’s more telling is the statement that Mary retweeted from the DFL in 12B. They admitted that Mr. Hoff’s criminal history was known before the endorsement. Presuming there was a nominations committee report to the convention, then it went one of 3 ways;
Nominations Committee DIDN’T recommend endorsement, told the Convention why, and the Convention did so anyways.
Nominations Committee DID recommend endorsement WITH disclosure, and the Convention endorsed Hoff knowingly.
Nominations Committee DID recommend endorsement WITHOUT disclosure and the Convention endorsed without widespread knowledge of Hoff’s past actions. That level of Committee incompetence is usually reserved to the MN GOP JEC and their inexplicable inflation with Michelle MacDonald.

No matter how it went down, so far the 12B DFL is standing by their man.

    Understood.

Put another way: a stalker and wannabe slasher is the only candidate the SD12 DFL could come up with to run for the B-side.

One must celebrate signs of civil behavior wherever such things can be found.

    Good Lord.

After reading tweets and replies in that thread and connected to that thread:

He moved there at the beginning of 2021. While it wasn’t directly stated, we can only assume he moved into a house ACROSS THE STREET from her for the sole purpose of being that close to her to gain the ability to passively and actively taunt her 24/7. If he wanted to run in 12B, there are lots of other neighborhoods or locations he could have moved to in 12B

Which means, he waited until a house that close to her was on the market. He watched the neighborhood for homes sufficiently close to her to go up for sale. I’m sure there were multiple bids on the house so he more than likely had to present an inflated bid to guarantee he would be selected (yet he calls himself “poor” in a video posted in 2019, where he is still demonstrating against a tweet of hers made in 2012).

His candidate FB profile page also shows he is not someone who should be around firearms, especially the scary black “assault weapon” as he is holding, with his finger lightly resting on the trigger.

This man is truly a crazed psychotic stalker. I really hope Mary takes measures to protect herself and her family.

She also states “God must want me to pray for this guy, like in a major way. Out of all the people he could marry, he chose my neighbor”.

So does that mean he stalked out this single lady who lived across the street from Mary, and somehow convinced her to fall in love with him to the point of marrying him? That’s even scarier than scanning the neighborhood for a nearby house to go up for sale.

I wish I could ask her for more specifics.

Martin may have shown that there is a bottom to the barrel, but I’m betting it’s a false bottom.
