Good show, Mitch.
I have a couple of friends that live in Woodbury or Chicago West, as they call it. All three of them are transplants from Iowa, Indiana and Missouri. They tell me that there is a very large percentage of Illinoisans, primarily from the Chicago area. Apparently, they didn’t leave their politics behind.

Mitch, wondering if you’re gonna look into and/or write about this mysterious result?

Jdm, par for the course. Very soon not only will they offer sweetheart deals, they will pay bounty for every maga pelt brought into the precinct.

Is this a real thing? The DFL wants to build a passenger rail line between the cities and Duluth?
Jesus Christ on a surfboard, that is insane. MNDFL is like a crazy person who keeps burning his hand by pressing it on a stove top. “Ouch, holy cow, those burns look bad, maybe third degree. I learned nothing, guess I’ll do it again. Ouch, holy cow, those burns look bad, maybe third degree. I learned nothing, guess I’ll do it again.”

Btw, I think someone tweeted or otherwise quipped about that ND crime scandal, that the whole move to a red state project may not all that it’s cracked up to be. Just sayin’

Slow Joe Biden, the “Lion of Afghanistan,” says that he told Zelinskyy “We’re not going anywhere.”
I’m surprised Zelinskyy didn’t shit himself on the spot when he heard that. In Biden speak this means “we are about to abandon you to your enemies.”
The best predictor of future action is past action.

The only way the “Northern Lights” train from Minneapolis to Duluth makes sense is if it’s real purpose is to deliver people from the cities & northern suburbs to the mega-casino in Hinckley.
I see that the train will leave the cities (Saint Paul depot, I suppose), and stop in Coon Rapids, Cambridge, and Hinckley before going on to Duluth.
The Indians are one of the groups lobbying for the train.
I don’t mean it “makes sense” in the usual definition of the term. I mean it makes sense for the people (like the Indians & BNSF) who spent a few hundred thousand dollars, maybe, lobbying for the train & will get megabucks back as a reward.

So the new sales tax in the metro will be close to 9%.
In Polk County, WI, it is 5.5%.

MMP, on Saturday, Zelensky admitted the Russian Federation has taken Bakhumet. Today, his generals are saying “pish tosh…it’s just a scratch, we’re still winning.”
The motivation to deny the obvious is clear. The Uke mob wants to keep the grift going as long as possible. They’ll be sacrificing their valuable pre-teen boy inventory soon which will cripple their trafficking business, but they’re making x3 from NATO idiots.
So, will FJBiden’s handlers send F-16 fighter jets? Maybe they will. Certainly none of the Conservative cucks in Congress will object.
The Taliban got about $150 million in military vehicles, equipment, ammunition and arms. Putin is about to inherit $15 billion in the most advanced weapons NATO has, but the true cost isn’t just in lost hardware, it’s in what it will cost to re-design all these systems to negate the tactical advantage Russia will get from reverse engineering everything.
Of course, that’s great news for Raytheon, General Dynamics, Lockheed, McDonnel Douglas & company.
There literally isn’t anything worth saving in Weimerica, except the civilized, sane 1/3 of the population.

don’t go advertising that 5.5%, its already drawing too many twin cities retirees/work from home types that believe their politics are just what Polk Cty needs – hell one of the infested townships recently enacted an ordinance that prohibits the operation of farm machinery before 7am, after 5pm, or on weekends – it hasn’t created a lot of good feeling.

I’m still trying to wrap my head around the idea that less than 6 months after we lose a war we never had a strategy for winning, we joined another war with no strategy for winning.
The stupidity shown by the neocons is jaw-dropping. They seem to believe that continual escalation is the path to peace.

I prompted ChatGPT, thus:
Western news media has announced the Russian Federation has taken the Ukrainian city of Bakhumet. Write a response from the perspective of Zelensky, who wants to keep grift coming from the West. Convince NATO you’re winning, even though you know you are not.
ChatGPT:
Statement from President Zelensky on the Situation in Bakhumet
Ladies and gentlemen,
I stand before you today with deep concern and a heavy heart to address the recent developments in Bakhumet. Reports circulating in the Western news media have indicated that the Russian Federation has taken control of this Ukrainian city. I must emphasize that these reports are yet to be independently verified, and our government is working diligently to gather accurate information on the ground.
First and foremost, I want to reassure the Ukrainian people and our international partners that we remain steadfast in our commitment to defending our sovereignty and territorial integrity. Ukraine’s security forces are engaged in a fierce resistance against any encroachments on our territory. We will continue to mobilize all necessary resources to protect our citizens and our nation.
We understand the concerns raised by our international partners, especially those who have been supporting us in our journey towards stability and prosperity. I want to take this opportunity to express my gratitude to the Western countries and organizations that have stood by us, providing vital financial assistance, humanitarian aid, and political support. We value these partnerships immensely, and we are determined to strengthen them further.
The situation in Bakhumet serves as a stark reminder of the challenges we face in the ongoing conflict with Russia. It highlights the urgent need for continued international solidarity and support. We will work closely with our Western allies to assess the situation, discuss appropriate responses, and explore avenues for peaceful resolution.
At this critical juncture, I urge the Western community to maintain its unwavering commitment to Ukraine. Economic assistance, investment, and trade partnerships remain crucial to our nation’s recovery and development. The path to a prosperous Ukraine lies in our ability to strengthen ties with the West, attract foreign investments, and enhance our economic resilience.
We will redouble our efforts to implement vital reforms, fight corruption, and create a favorable business climate that attracts investors. Our commitment to democracy, human rights, and the rule of law remains resolute, as these are the foundations of a strong and prosperous Ukraine.
I call upon the international community to join us in condemning any actions that undermine the sovereignty of Ukraine and disregard the principles of international law. Together, we must work towards a peaceful resolution to the conflict, ensuring the restoration of Ukraine’s territorial integrity and the well-being of its people.
In conclusion, I want to reiterate Ukraine’s determination to protect its sovereignty, uphold democratic values, and continue on the path of progress. We value the support of our Western partners, and we remain committed to fostering strong relationships that will benefit both Ukraine and the international community.
Thank you.
LMAO…I bet that is 99.9% of what you’ll hear from Zelensky.

A guy living in my apartment complex remarked:
I spent 20 years in school to get my license, another 15 years on-the-job training to qualify for this job, and another 20 years to reach the point in my career where I can stop commuting and work from home. Imagine what life must be like for people who don’t have everything handed to them because of White privilege.

a war we never had a strategy for winning
That goes back much further. Like the Korean War. Offhand, I can’t think of a “war” in the last 70 years that we wanted to win (I don’t think it’s fair to include bullying Central American and Caribbean countries as wars). Shoot, we haven’t even declared war in the last 70 years.
Killed a lot of white boys from the South and Midwest tho’, so those conflicts haven’t been completely wasted.

“Now, issue a statement from China President Xi, from the position that sending more money and weapons will only delay the inevitable, and cause further unnecessary bloodshed. Allude to the graft and corruption that is running rampant in Ukraine.”
ChatGPT:
Statement from President Xi Jinping on the Situation in Ukraine
Esteemed colleagues and distinguished guests,
Today, I address the concerning developments in Ukraine, particularly regarding the situation in Bakhumet. As the President of the People’s Republic of China, I feel compelled to share our perspective on the matter. While we are deeply saddened by the reports of further bloodshed and loss of life, we believe it is crucial to approach this issue with a broader perspective.
China firmly believes that escalating the provision of funds and weapons will only exacerbate the situation and prolong the suffering of the Ukrainian people. We must be cautious in our response to avoid inadvertently escalating tensions and causing further unnecessary bloodshed.
It is a matter of concern that Ukraine has faced significant challenges in recent years, including widespread corruption and mismanagement. The reports and evidence available suggest that the government led by President Zelensky has not taken adequate measures to curb graft and corruption. These deeply-rooted issues undermine the stability and progress of Ukraine and erode public trust in the government.
China firmly believes in the importance of good governance, transparency, and the rule of law in fostering sustainable development. We encourage Ukraine to prioritize the fight against corruption and implement comprehensive reforms to strengthen institutions, enhance accountability, and promote transparency. Addressing these fundamental issues is vital to attracting foreign investments, promoting economic growth, and achieving long-term stability.
China continues to engage in diplomatic dialogue with all parties involved and supports a peaceful resolution to the conflict in Ukraine. We encourage the Ukrainian government to actively engage in constructive dialogue, address the systemic issues of corruption, and work towards national reconciliation. Only through sincere and sustained efforts can Ukraine achieve lasting peace, stability, and prosperity.
In conclusion, China emphasizes the importance of genuine and effective anti-corruption measures in Ukraine. We urge the government to take decisive action to curb graft and restore public trust. China stands ready to assist Ukraine in its reform efforts and calls upon the international community to support these endeavors. By working together, we can contribute to a future of prosperity, stability, and harmony for the people of Ukraine.
Thank you.
