The SPPD has arrested a suspect in the arson of a mosque on Dale Street in Saint Paul:
Police said Thursday officers arrested 42-year-old Said Ntamugabumwe around 8 p.m. Wednesday. He was booked into the Ramsey County Jail on suspicion of first-degree arson.

He was just convicted in another 2nd degree arson case in March 2023. Guess what?? His 18-mos prison sentence was STAYED by Judge Andrew Gordon.

POD, 10/10 this is an act of sectarian warfare. Sammies are Sunni, this guy is surely a Shia. How can I be sure? No muzzy would deface a mosque, unless it was a mosque of the heretics.

The perp says he’s Muslim, but it’s worth noting that the articles I’ve found out about him suggest he’s also got a longstanding problem with mental illness and drug use, and has no known address–e.g. likely homeless. So I don’t know that I can say that he’s acting out a Shia-Sunni conflict. There are more likely things on the Pareto.
