NORMIES: Uh, the “surplus”” is a combination of one-time or shor-time stimulus money from the Feds, and tax revenue driven by people spending all that stimulus money. It’s not permanent. But I bet you people are going to turn all this one time money into permanent spending, aren’t you?
THE DFL: The answer is, go forward, inclusive equity one people one leader one Minnesota!
NORMIES: That’s not an answer…

The state of the St. Paul roads merited a front page article in the Wall Street Journal the other day. Apparently you can see the potholes from the Delta flights as they pass over the city.
I celebrated by getting my first-ever banned comment on WSJ. Someone had commented that maybe the city needs to get the governor involved. I replied that that won’t happen until the trans that gets hurt isn’t your transmission.

What Hugh Hewitt often says about Democrats; “Roll Tape”. With a little bit of funding, the GOP should be able to turn at least some of this back next election cycle. All you have to do is say “this is what actually happened”.

Mirch, you are exactly right. The big concern was that the DFL would look at the surplus as “found money” and commit the budget, for years in advance, even though the surplus was long depleted.
We are ruled by adult children in a candy store.
