Perish The Thought

Democrats: “crazy paranoid wing nuts! Nobody’s coming for your guns! It’s all just propaganda to enrich the NRA and the gun industry!“

Also Democrats:

“OK, we’re coming for 70 to 80% of your guns. But you’re still paranoid!“

  1. Pedo Pete; the brain dead, incompetent moron that left over $81 million worth of military hardware, including over 300,000 AR-15s, M-4s, stinger missiles and hand held anti tank weapons to enemies of the United States, lectures the peasants on semi-automatic weapons.

  2. A lot of anti gunners are ignorant enough to think that fully semi automatic is a real category of guns sold on the civilian market. I have a standing offer to take anyone to the gun range for their first time and give them hands on instruction in an attempt to correct their ignorance.

There is no excuse for the ignorance of lawmakers and those involved with the policy “think-tanks” and non-profits that push gun control. Learn the issue that you are dealing with.

  3. when will you ever stop falling for these hoaxes
we have been repeatedly assured by liberals and even by our own troll
liberals are not coming for your guns
that claim is just a sick right wing kook fetish based fantasy
i repeat liberals are not coming for your guns
    although they should
because you have no right to choose the means to defend yourself
in fact you should not defend yourself at all
you will probably just hurt yourself
    and others around you
so you do not need a gun and should not have one
you should leave it to the professionals
except calling them comes from a place of white privilege
which is why we must defund the police
so dont rely on them either
    also russia
    and trump

    are we clear now
    ARE WE CLEAR

  4. In 1568, the Buddhist monks of the Mt. Hiei monastery, were a formidable military force in Japan.

Their army consisted of not only monks, but thousands of peasants from surrounding villages who were quite proficient in warfare. In 1593, Toyotomi Hideyoshi, titular ruler of all Japan, forbade the peasant class from possessing weapons including swords, guns, and knives. He initiated the “Sword Hunt” of 1593, He hoped to prevent peasant revolts and to distinguish Japan’s classes with only the samurai allowed to carry two swords.

Peasants caught with anything that could be used as a weapon were summarily executed on the spot.

It changed the power structure of Japan forever, and allowed for “Shogun’s”, or military commanders to rule Japan.

Disarming the populace is *always* job #1 for a tyrant.

  5. following up blades comment

swords were banned but not fishing spears – which became sai – or flails for threshing rice – which became nunchuku – and with proper training could be used to defend against the imperial soldiers

substitution is not only a basic law of economics
its also a law of asymetric warfare
    to improvise, adapt, overcome

a law banning semi auto weapons will not repeal the laws of economics
    or warfare

  6. Following up on Bigman’s follow-up.

Sai’s are Chinese weapons, and were conceived as weapons of defense against a sword. Nunchaku are of Chinese ancestry, as well, but they started as agricultural flails and were first used as weapons after having been used by Jiu Hong Jun as training devices for the military.

  7. I’m not a lawyer, but it seems to me that the life of a law banning the most popular categories of firearms in the U.S. would be measured in minutes, given that Heller and McDonald specifically mention semi-autos.

Let the Democrats go for this. The shame of being shot down in the Supreme Court and the backlash in 2024 would be wonderful. The big thing is that we need to hold the GOP’s feet to the fire to get candidates and platforms to appeal to moderates. We can’t put stroke victims and dementia patients up there and hope to win like another major political party.

    Ahhhhhahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaahahaha!

    You tell ’em Mr. Bubble!

  9. responding to blades correction of my elaboration of his point

enacting a law banning swords did not stop people from arming themselves using the principles of substitution and guerrilla war

similarly enacting a law banning semi auto rifles will not stop people from arming themselves using principles of substitution and guerrilla war

all that lesko brandon would accomplish by his assault rifle ban is riling up both sides of the aisle and possibly moving up the formal collapse of the republic

  10. Nitpicking on Bigman’s response to my correction of his elaboration of my point

The peasants probably couldn’t have kept their weapons if they’d have fought for them, but it would have taken a major expenditure of manpower and material by a cooalition of disparate warlords to pull it off. It would have constituted the largest scale conflict until Toyotomi Hideyoshi’s 1592 invasion of Korea, which ended in disaster.

In fact, Hideyoshi probably wouldn’t have had the wherewithal to conduct that invasion, win, lose or draw.

  11. agreeing with blade’s nitpicking . . .

in the same way that attempting to deprive the peasants of their makeshift weapons would have been a tremendous undertaking lesko brandons proposed semi auto rifle ban would be as well

doesnt mean he wont do it
only that it wont do anything to reduce crime
and may hasten the date future historians recall
as the fall of the republic

  12. “doesnt mean he wont do it”

Right. And at least 80% of all those “molon labe” Patriots™ would meekly kneel and stretch their necks when the fed “Weapons of Mass Killing Confiscation Squad” showed up at their door.

But if even 10% stood their ground, that would still leave a considerable and lethal force for the feds to reckon with.
