Victory?
By Mitch Berg
Joe Doakes from Como Park emails:
Pollsters predict this Fall will be devastating for the Democrat Party, maybe an extinction event. Republicans will win handily.
I don’t want Republicans to win. “Republicans” include Liz Cheney, Lisa Murkowski, Mitt Romney – Republicans in name only.
I want Conservatives to win. I’ve seen nothing in the polling to indicate a conservative landslide.
Replacing Democrats with RINOs is not victory.
Joe Doakes
Joe hints toward a point I’ve been pondering writing about for a while, now; the republican party today is painfully similar to the one we had 50 years ago; different from the Democrats in just enough ways to fight over every couple years, but not in terms of policy substance, really, anymore.
In the 1960s through the mid-1970s, a conservative insurgency rooted in the principles William F Buckley enshrined in the Sharon Declaration
They gradually took over the GOP – over the cold, dead, figurative bodies of the Rockefellers and Nixons and other moderates, basically Democrats with better suits, that had held sway since the 1930s. It started with Barry Goldwater, peaked with Ronald Reagan, and spread out into national policy via the 1994 Gingrich landslide.
We need another one of those. Stat.

JD,
I think Lisa Murkowski’s reign is coming to an end. Friends in Alaska tell me that she has become sort of a pariah. They further state that even some of her staunchest supporters that they know, have turned on her. Of course, she is leading in fundraising, but that’s most likely due to the national GOP committee, pumping in money.
On another note, I will never donate to either Minnesota or national GOP organizations. If I find a candidate that I like and after I’ve done my due diligence, I’m donating directly to the candidate. The GOP is no better than the DNC. They blackmail the members that don’t follow the mantra. The only exception is that when a DemoCommie screws up, all of them circle the wagons to defend, deflect and lie to help them. The GOP members have knock down, drag outs.

Progressives don’t give up power willingly and the Clintons are still alive. Either they will stage another George Floyd type event or drag us directly into a shooting war with Russia or maybe China in Taiwan. In any case whatever the Aug/Sept surprise it will be enough that if they’re lucky Republicans will have a bare majority in the house (maybe 220) and the Senate (53 at best). Progressives have the big corporations, tech oligarchs, a captured media, and big pharma willing to spend money and manufacture votes. In short I don’t think there will be a “Red Wave”.

The local news this morning (KSTP) had an even handed story on Jensen being named the MN GOP governor candidate, a longish story on the baby formula shortage, a story on the corruption of the ‘Feeding Our Future’ non-profit, and, wonder of wonders, a story on the Michael Sussman trial, in the course of which the reporter acknowledged that the Clinton campaign funneled disinformation to the FBI.
It’s a start.

The MN GOP is dead when the best candidate for governor they can endorse is Scott Jensen. May as well just hand the election to Walz.
It’ll be rather entertaining to watch Jensen pivot to the center while attempting to connect with conservative Democrats and Independents.

Twister is in trouble as Musk peers under the hood to discover malfeasance and fraud, which will likely allow him to buy company for pennies on the dollar; Zuckerfuck is in trouble with breaking election laws; Bezos turned on Jughead; maybe, just maybe… but unless RINOs are booted out with extreme prejudice, and Rethuglicans start throwing weight around, and not serving as footstools for libturds, nothing will change and you will be well served in investing more in lead.

If Trump did nothing else, he proved *no one* is going to upset the apple cart. But hey, vote for that super, ultra-MAGA conservative guy or gal anyway, because Hope and Change….and MTG would like some company in the basement.

Trump deserves credit — he has pulled off the biggest political branding coup of all time. Trump’s name as a product that is attached to no substance.
Trumpism could be any flavor of right wing ideological flavor, or none of it. It can be anything. Which leaves Trump to do whatever he wants knowing that all the Republicans are doing everything to please him, even though they have no idea what that might be. It’s the perfect world that Trump has always wanted. He can sell his name and never have to deliver anything.
May 16th, 2022 at 9:43 am
Ha! Yea, Emery. Trump is being a classic DemoCommie then. Oh. Wait. Unlike the Dems, who NEVER are, nor are they held accountable for their ignorance, Trump delivered. Meanwhile, Pedo Joe has Barack’s arm up his ass, moving his mouth to spew nonsense. At least there aren’t any more mean Tweets!

No, E, you’re wrong because you’re trying to apply Alinsky’s Rule Number 12 (pick the target, freeze it, personalize it, polarize it) but that rule doesn’t apply to this situation. Rule 12 is why every Republican candidate instantly becomes Literally Hitler, so Liberals can destroy the candidate before he takes office. Trump isn’t in office. He’s not a candidate for office. Rule No. 12 didn’t work on him when he was and it won’t work on us now that he’s not.
Rule 12 doesn’t apply to this situation because Trump was not the cause, Trump was the symptom, same as the TEA Party was. There is no Trumpism just as there was no TEA Party-ism. The cause in both instances is popular discontent with Liberals’ relentless push to destroy America. Destroying individual political figures will not reduce popular discontent with Liberals tactics, it will confirm and exacerbate popular discontent with Liberals’ tactics.
How is it that I know more about your side’s battle plan than you do? Study your damned rules, willya?

Woolly mentioned the the Michael Sussman trial..
Sussman is forcing it to go to trial. Durham was trying to intimidate him into a plea. Only two people were present: the one who says I didn’t do that and the one who says I don’t remember if he did that. Reasonable doubt was never this easy. How this charge is being entertained in a court of law is totally baffling.
After years of investigation and millions of dollars spent, this is the best John Durham can do? The court has already excluded evidence that Durham wanted to use against Sussman, who will ask for a dismissal at the end of the case in chief and may well get it. It’s time for Durham to pack up and go home.

@JD — Voting against Trumpism in favor of sanity. Lets just call this election the ‘Enough of the Whackos’ election and keep Walz and get rid of people who believe in Jewish space lasers and vaccine magnets and promise to audit the 2020 election..
I’m re-posting this again. None of the facts have changed:
Joe Biden easily defeated Donald Trump in the safest and most secure Presidential election in U.S. history.
2020 U.S. Presidential security confirmed by:
Trump’s DOJ
Trump’s DHS
Trump’s AG
Trump’s VP
Over 80 judges (many appointed by Trump) in over 60 courts.
Three times before a Conservative majority Supreme Court with three Trump appointees.
Multiple recounts and forensic audits.
The “Ninja” audit funded by Trump supporters to prove election fraud.
Multiple lawyers in election fraud challenges admitted under oath they had no evidence of fraud.
Rudy Giuliani admitted under oath he had no evidence of fraud.
Sidney Powell’s legal team has admitted her claims are so deranged no rational person could believe them.
Multiple Republican candidates won on the same ballots processed by the same machines overseen by the same officials Trump lost on.
Anyone who believes the 2020 Presidential election was stolen is crazy.

Shakespeare only categorized seven degrees of lies in “As You Like It.” We need to add another for you, E, the Lie By Omission, because you conveniently omit any facts, words or evidence which does not support the lie.
Impressive, improving upon Shakespeare. I know from your posts that you’re not smart enough to think of it. Who’d you copy it from?

At least Jensen’s patients will be safe while he is campaigning.
May 16th, 2022 at 12:22 pm
Yea, Emery, as opposed to the thousands that Pedo Joe and his band of clowns have killed, via poisonous vaccines, bomb attacks on U.S. troops, suicides and illegal aliens that get across the southern border, only to die in the desert. Despite your self important, yet inane posts, none of you DemoCommies have any moral high ground to stand on.

Regarding the notion that nothing ever changes, keep in mind that there were times when “contitutional carry” and the notion of an end to Roe were not even plausible. The first is law in 25 states, the second may be coming soon. Sometimes we need to be a little more patient than we’ve been, and we’ll start to see fruit.
