The real danger to our society is “right wing terror”.

I disagree. The left’s response to being forced to share power, via shared powers, checks and balances and due process, with those they hate is going to be what the civil war is about.
Abortion will be one of the issues that will exercise the shared powers, checks, balances and process against which Big Left will revolt.
I notice that tweet came a few days ago. There must’ve been some backlash. Not only is that tweet gone but so is the account (@ms_creilly This account doesn’t exist).
The psychology is interesting. Both sides have their crazies, but on the Left, their crazies seem to be politicians and professional journos rather than random wackos.
The common attitude among abortion zealots seems to be that they believe that are less than fully human if they do not have absolute power to terminate their pregnancy for any reason whatsoever. They seem to not want to be women, or at least to redefine women to have more masculine characteristics.
Schumer’s national abortion law, the Women’s Healthcare Protection Act (WHPA) that failed yesterday was the same bill that passed the house last year, but never made it to a Senate vote. Well, it wasn’t quite the same. The house bill referred to women. In Schumer’s WHPA every reference to women was changed to be gender neutral.
They really are trying to erase women.
Lessee….the left, predominantly unarmed and in favor of gun control, is trying to pick a “hot”, violent fight with the right, very significantly armed…..could end up very badly for them, I think.

The right is heavily armed but easily cowed. We have guns but won’t use them for fear the Left might call us names, or refuse to invite us to swell parties.
Anyone who does use a gun will make the rest of us Rightees look bad, so we will instantly throw him under the bus to purge ourselves of the taint of having been associated with someone so tastless as to have . . . principles.
The Left will win without firing a shot. They won’t need to. They know we won’t.
If there’s another Civil War, abortion will be the “cause”, just as slavery was the “cause” in 1860 – both the facile flag that covers a multitude of more complicated, underlying reasons.
As I think I’ve remarked here before, if you read Churchill’s history of the American Civil War, the opening chapters describing the state by state and federal politics of abolition in the decades leading up to the war are a virtual template for the state by state and federal politics of abortion a century later.
Joe, mostly true, but there will come a point where, just as peaceful grandmothers bring out their .38s when they’re held up at Wal-Mart, otherwise peaceful people decide they’re going to return fire. Wouldn’t we have said about the same thing just before Bernhard Goetz decided he’d had enough?
If the shortages start to affect the unwashed masses that the DemoCommies count on, I believe that any normally hesitant right leaning gun owner, will shoot to protect their family and/or stuff. In fact, I have a highly suspect neighbor that is so entrenched in left wing rhetoric, that he called the police on my brother and I, for taking our guns, in cases mind you, out of his trunk after we returned from pheasant hunting. He laughed and guffawed another neighbor when he found out said neighbor, bought an emergency food supply. I’m expecting the idiot to be the first one to panic if he can’t get groceries.
Bike, it might be a generational thing. My kids are not as interested in guns and silver and prepping as I am. They apparently believe God will look out for us, that society will keep chugging along, that things will generally turn out okay. I wish I had their faith.
I suspect that when the cattle cars are loading, the people rufusing to board will be old codgers like me and few young rednecks who share a “shoot first and don’t bother asking questions” philosophy. Everybody else will be busy on their laptops, updating their Facebook page with the flag of the day.

Very cogent observation, NW. I agree completely. There are more motivations than we can count, but the short of it is we hate each other with the same white hot passion that was certainly present in 1860. Truth be told, we hate one another at an even more base level than Northern and Southerners did then.
But I do find it fascinating that now, 162 years later, race is still a factor. Except this time, it’s progressive White Northerners and blacks fighting to bring Southern Whites to heel.

I have thought about what a second civil war might be like: horrible awful, everyone will wish every night that it did happen. I am not hoping for that.
But if they keep pushing until we have no more back up, if the antifa/blm sturmabteilung (brown shirts) come to my door they are going to regret that. ( I will too of course)

I’d be interested in hearing how you make that disconnect, kinlaw. It’s all well and good to say “hate the sin, not the sinner”, but with leftists, their sin *is* who they *are*.
I knew a leftist farmer in Minnesota, 25+ years ago, a real die hard who actually *would* give anyone the shirt off his back. He didn’t judge anyone for any reason. Now, I can find fault in that kind of blind altruism, but I couldn’t find a crack in his integrity; we were friends.
Today, I’d be hard pressed to find one leftist that isn’t pure trash. I don’t associate with them, and don’t want them around me.
When the Nazis took cities with sizable Jewish populations in Eastern Europe, they would concentrate the Jews into a small part of town. When they had all gathered, they were ordered to pack their bags and assemble at the train station to be transported away from the front lines.

But while they outnumbered the Nazis, the Nazis had the process down to a science. Vicious dogs were used to control the prisoners, any resistance, any failure to follow orders and you got shot or torn to pieces by the guard dogs.
State ordered mass murders were the signature of early to mid 20th century totalitarianism. They accomplished using primitive tools. Railroads. Barb wire. The telegraph and the telephone, the type writer and the index card.
Imagine how much easier it would be to do today.
