Scratch A “Progressive”, Find A Totalitarian

“So, Mitch – why do you say that the democratic party in United States is the party of authoritarianism? “

Because they tell us they are. Strong majority of Democrats approve of Justin Trudeaucescu‘s treatment of civil disobedience:treatment of civil civil disobedience:

35 percent overall approved of Trudeau’s crackdown, while 10 percent said they were unaware of what’s happening to the US’ northern neighbor.

Looking at Democrat likely voters alone, 65 percent said they favored Trudeau’s crackdown on the protestors, and 17 percent said they disapproved.

I mean, even the rhetoric is becoming too obvious to avoid; Orwell’s villains declared that freedom was slavery; today, democrat thinkers closer and closer to the main stream say freedom is “white supremacist“.

Tomato, tomahto.

  1. Well, at least on the surface, the CCLA is on record against the illegal actions of little Castro. If only we had an organization here that would speak out against the dystopians. They could name it the American Civil Liberties Union or something like that.

  2. A politician, as opposed to an autocrat, would have met with the protesters, listened to them politely, commiserated with them, explained that he would take their views under consideration and perhaps given back a little something.
Then, if Trudeau had to crack down, he would have much more support than he has. Instead he has split the government along party lines. Only the members of his coalition support his use of emergency powers. Emergency powers are now going to be seen in Canada as a tool that the political party in power uses against the political party out of power.
And what crisis provoked this response by Trudeau?
Some truckers flexed their political and economic power to protest a mandated covid prophylaxis.
The law of diminishing returns tells us that you will never get 100% compliance from a free people without significant political pushback. The question is how do you handle it? Trudeau failed the test. You can’t have a stable country where 60% feels it has the right to rule the 40%.

  3. Trudeau couldn’t have met with truckers. The very act of meeting would have legitimized them and their complaints about the vax, to which he has no convincing response besides “I said so.”

Canada is using its banking system against its own subjects. Lesko Brandon is using the international banking system people in two provinces of Ukraine (not against Russia, mind you, but against the citizens in the rebel provinces).

How long until Lesko Brandon does it to us?

What’s the prophylactic? Gold is hard to spend. Cash under the mattress is lumpy and a fire hazard. Bank of the Bahamas?

  4. JD
    “What’s the prophylactic?”

Face it “your” money isn’t yours, it belongs to the government and they are only letting you use it as approved for economic reasons.

  5. JD, until SHTF you have to trade metals and bit coin for fiat currency. There are plenty of exchanges around, and there are no banking records involved during the upfront transaction between buyer and seller.

You have to sign a sales slip, but no ID is necessary since it’s a straight up commercial transfer.

The guy I deal with is a prepper himself. He has a side business selling food grade, plastic 55 gallon barrels for water storage, and he also sells refurbished military generators. His sales records have me as “Harold Bahls”.

The only downside right now, is that you pay a couple points more to buy it, and give a couple points to sell it. That will change when hard currency is in wide distribution; which it will be.

It’s not optimal, but as they say, freedom isn’t free.

  6. Prepping has been around since the 60s. Long ago, I started buying “junk” silver, dimes, half dollars, quarters and nickels, before the Fed again crapped on us by using copper and zinc to make coins.

  7. That’s not quite right, pig.

Our fiat currency is actually owned by the international banks that hold the fed’s trillions of debt and who set the currency exchange rate.

The Social Security fund currently holds most of the IOU’s, with Asian banks (China primarily) coming in a close second.

The only thing the US government has direct control over is enough guns to enforce their will.

  8. Glad to see that everyone who became an expert in pandemic response in 2020 is now an expert in Canadian and Russian geopolitics.

  9. The US interest in Canadian and Russian geopolitics was explained more than 200 years ago, in George Washington’s Farewell Address. You should read it.

  10. Glad to see that everyone who became an expert in pandemic response in 2020 is now an expert in Canadian and Russian geopolitics.

Oh, rAT. No one knows better than you; all it takes to be an expert at anything is a willingness to troll the internet for some quotes to plagiarize, and the shameless lack of self respect to lie about everything.

  11. From what I am seeing on these here interwebs is that the dhimmis plan to run on: you’ll take your $5.00/gallon gas and you will like it, and if you are against this stupidity of a russian misadventure you are treasonous. They are already saying just go ahead and put on your ‘team russia shirts.

Please troll, run with that. Call people who just need to get to work and the store without spending an entire paycheck on gas treasonous. It’ll work!

  12. Glad to see Lesko Brandon is flexing his muscle. He’s got a telephone and a pen. He’s using it.

    https://www.whitehouse.gov/briefing-room/statements-releases/2022/02/22/fact-sheet-united-states-imposes-first-tranche-of-swift-and-severe-costs-on-russia/

Right now, he only blocking certain named two named banks, five named families, and a certain class of investors from participating in the American banking system. But the last paragraph of the Order makes clear the Secretary of the Treasury can add any name to the list at any time for any reason, with no oversight, no review, no appeal.

It’s the No Fly List, for banking. I don’t think my name is on the list yet, but I’m confident certain trolls have forwarded it to the feds for inclusion. Because that’s how it works in low-trust societies. Your neighbors spy on you. They turn you in. In the olden days, the secret police would kick down your door at 4:00 a.m. to haul you off to the gulag but nowadays they don’t even bother – they lock you out of society with the touch of a button.

Yesterday, Canadian truckers. Today, Russian bankers. Tomorrow . . . .

  13. @Joe Doakes: You’re an embarrassment to Reagan’s legacy.

Ronald Reagan has to be turning over in his grave at Trump, Pompeo and the Republicans rallying around the Russian flag and Putin as he takes over Ukraine. The Republican desire to dismantle democracy in America and establish an authoritarian government is out in the open.

  14. I’m curious to know, is there a Secret Police website on which you trolls turn in Americans who don’t support the Lesko Brandon puppet regime?

Are you required to send screen shots with your emails, or is your word good enough proof to put us on the list?

Do they you pay per person, per family, how does that work?

  15. The elephant in the room is Afghanistan. I predicted, as did many others, that Biden’s disastrous withdrawal was an event that would encourage our enemies and discourage our allies, and its repercussions would be known in the short term, the medium term, and possibly the long term.
Biden’s Afghan disaster was multidimensional. Not only was it a bad decision, Biden’s response to his epic failure was to deny that it happened. He fired no one. The same people in charge of US foreign policy in July 2021 are still in charge. That ought to make Putin sleep easier!
Putin has now effectively annexed provinces of a neighboring nation.
NATO is now broken. Trump didn’t do that, Biden did that. Biden’s dilatory response to Putin has left Germany, not the US and NATO, as the leader in Europe.
I am certain the Chinese are watching what happens in Europe. Taiwan may be the next to fall.
All the while we are led by highly credentialed experts in foreign policy in the white house and highly credentialed generals in the pentagon.
No Trump in charge now. His influence in the federal government, other than in the judicial branch, is nill. There are no Trump holdovers to blame for this disaster. It’s all Joe, acting like Joe has acted for all of his almost 5 decades in government.
And all because American Progressives drove themselves mad with TDS.

  16. Emery is now a defender of Reagan. Lol.
The only Republicans who talk about Reagan anymore are #nevertrumpers and DC obsessed grifters.
Smart people noticed that the coalition that elected Trump, and delivered to him in 2020 more votes than any other GOP candidate ever, IS the Reagan coalition.

  17. What’s with the “rally around the russians” crap, when its just a bad idea to get involved?
I’ll tell you what: they are desperate. They know they have no chance at keeping their power, so now it’s “treason, treason treason”, down the line.

Dems 2022: you’ll take your $5.00/gallon gas and like it, and if you don’t, you are a traitor and we will de-platform and de fund you. And next year it will be $6.00/gallon.

  18. MP: good catch, emery the Reagan lover.

    Love it.

If the left didn’t have double standards, they would have no standards at all.

  19. Take a moment to view the videos included in this article. This is the pants shitting dotard leader of the free world, addressing the nation.

A third rate intellect in his prime, now badly degraded, being dragged around like a puppy by witless nitwits and degenerates…anyone wonder why Putin has decided now is the time to act?

    https://www.bizpacreview.com/2022/02/23/blank-stare-biden-picks-at-teeth-when-asked-if-he-underestimated-vladimir-putin-1204586/

  20. And the CDC admits that it withholds covid data to drive its agenda:
    https://www.nytimes.com/2022/02/20/health/covid-cdc-data.html
That admission ought to quash all those conspiracy theories, eh?
The reason why the CDC and various state governments and agencies disagree on the facts is not because the facts are different, but because they aren’t facts at all. When a progressive uses the word “facts” or “science,” what they mean is politics.

  21. JD, Russian wealth is 80% dependent on oil, gas and minerals. F Joe Biden’s first act was to guarantee Putin’s domination of Europe’s energy supply; Russia’s been raking in trillions since Pedo (literally) took office.

Putin doesn’t give a flying fuck about some bank accounts because even there, there are plenty of non-NATO countries that will gladly trade in rubles.

The only group that has proportionally made off better since Pedo came on the scene are the Mexican cartels that literally own our Southern border now, and are transporting whatever the fuck they want into the US.

  22. There was only ever one expert in US foreign policy: George Washington. He laid out the intellectual underpinnings in his Farewell Address. You should read it.

  23. You should read it.

Read it? Hell JD, that nitwit will be cut and pasting it as his own in a few minutes.

  24. Emery likes to show us, once in a while, an example of argumentum ad hominem.
That he does not recognize it himself has never stopped him from using it.

  25. 80 years ago, when a dictator threatened his neighbors in Europe, a propagandist in the US came to his aid, preaching isolationism, bigotry, and sympathy for the autocrat.

The propagandist was Father Coughlin. Today’s propagandist is Father Woolly.

  26. Scratch a libturd in power and get a grifter:

Pete Buttigieg accepted $250,000 and gifts from mayoral campaign donors who were later awarded $33million in city contracts, raising concerns of ‘pay to play’ as Transportation Secretary doles out $210billion in infrastructure plan

Because they are better, smarter, better looking, gayer than you, and by golly, everybody loves them! Two Americas™

  27. E’s 11:01 post got me thinking.

When Hitler was on the rise, America-Firsters says “It’s none of our business.” That was wrong and bad, according to E. We should have bombed their factories, leaving the US as the dominant world power. That cost a few lives but economically, it worked well for a couple of decades.

Okay, I’ve reconsidered. If Lesko Brandon is willing to bomb all the factories in Europe including Russia, restoring the US to its position as the dominant world power, I’m in favor of going to war over Ukraine. But it’s gotta be all of them. No cutting deals to leave Airbus standing, or British Petroleum, or that damned bullet train under the Channel. All or nothing. Because that’s the way to make America First again.

  28. Emery, of course, cannot name a single time that I expressed sympathy for an autocrat. In fact I have steadfastly criticized Trudeau’s autocratic madness.
Nor can he cite an example of my bigotry, or my preaching isolationism.
It’s lies all the way down, gents.

  29. If Pedo Joe was smart, he’d be sending out a narrative to the reprobate media blaming Putin for the mass invasion of our Southern border, the fentanyl crisis, human smuggling, inflation, the dismal employment recovery, the Afghanistan debacle, the teen myocardia crisis, Hunter’s crack addiction and his GI incontinence on Putin.

Instead, he’ll have another pudding cup and a nap until someone wakes him for a fresh diaper.

  30. Speaking of domino theory and floodgates opened by Selling USA by the Pound crowd in the WH:

Chinese news media posted instructions to social platforms about how to approach coverage on Ukraine, including a note of China’s need for Russian “support” with Taiwan. One outlet appeared to accidentally post guidelines on what should and should not be published, while an editor from another outlet weighed in with guidance on language and approaches that he believed necessary in walking a fine line.

  31. Hey y’all! It’s time again to play “Point and laugh at the witless asshole”!

rAt squeaked: “80 years ago, when a dictator threatened his neighbors in Europe, a propagandist in the US came to his aid, preaching isolationism, bigotry, and sympathy for the autocrat. The propagandist was Father Coughlin. Today’s propagandist is Father Woolly.”

Supporting the acts of violence in Canada, rAT squeaked: “Turns out criminal acts have consequences —names of those involved are useful for future criminal “Protests” — so for law abiding residents it’s a big win.”

rAT, Hitler was democratically elected. He used a civil emergency to declare he needed extraordinary powers, which the Reichstag promptly gave him. He used those legally granted powers to crush German citizens his regime saw as enemies.

Sound familiar? Oh, we’re not done.

Everything Hitler did was legal under German law at the time. Nazi courts issued all the necessary rulings he use to carry out the pogroms against “undesirables”. He started out by removing (cancelling) them from academia and government. He sent the Sturmabteilung (SA) out to beat the snot out of the undesirables with batons. He then seized their money and possessions and carted them off to indeterminant detention without trial.

Trudeau has followed the exact – same – path. In Canada, the undesirables are not Jews, Romani, Communists or sodomites, they’re “White Supremacists”, which is new speak for “White people that do not vote for leftists”. He’s got a list of names of people he has promised to track down. His green shirts have beaten them with batons. He’s seized their money and possessions.

No, he hasn’t carted anyone off in rail cars; he’s using busses. But hey, it’s the 21st century, right?

rAT, you are waving a Maple Leaf Swastika. YOU are Father Coughlin. You are either a gormless idiot, or a Nazi…or both.

  32. Oh, oh. Authoritarian Congressman suggests authorities seize peaceful protester’s trucks and redistribute them.

    https://pjmedia.com/news-and-politics/chris-queen/2022/02/22/democrat-congressman-suggests-the-redistribution-of-trucks-n1561200

Who do you think owns those small trucking companies? White men, that’s who. Taking trucks from one white man to give to another white man solves nothing. We need to make more Black men drive trucks. If they won’t do it voluntarily, we’ll have to force them. Bring back slavery. To protect our freedom.

  33. Here is an example of what it looks like when the government decides to take over transportation. Use the your browser’s reader plugin to get past the subscriber wall:
    https://cumberlink.com/news/local/history/coal-crisis-of-1918-idled-factories-in-carlisle-entire-eastern-us/article_a178cbae-ef37-5b4e-a2bb-ba13aa79e6ca.html

Now the interesting thing about the coal shortage of 1917-1918 was that it was entirely created by experts in government. Progressive president Wilson had put one of his technocrats, a fellow named Garfield, in charge of virtually all the coal in the country. It was supposed to be needed for troop transports to send our boys “over there.” Garfield therefore had every scrap of coal the government could buy stockpiled on the East Coast.
But the winter of 1917-1918 was far colder than usual in the Midwest. The coal was still on the East Coast and couldn’t be easily transported back west where it was needed because Garfield had also rationed coal going to the railroads. Oops!
And, because mobilization was taking far longer than the experts had predicted, little of the coal on the East Coast was being to fuel troop transports.
It was a clusterfarg of gigantic proportions, with forced business and industry closures in the industrial Midwest during war time.
And, BTW, the US was under a hard censorship regime at the time. Criticizing the decisions that led to the coal shortage could get you put in jail.

  34. Blade;
Emery’s hero, Adolf Hitler, also killed off the Brownshirts after he used them to gain power. He told the people that he knew it was against their laws, but he had to do it, because they were getting out of control. There were a fair number of German citizens that asked the government to do something about them, so they accepted that Hitler did the right thing by killing them. As pea brain Emery and about 60% of his ilk think that type of action would be justified against anyone they don’t like, not realizing that the incompetent bastards will put the screws to them eventually.

  35. And Putin has launched his invasion of Ukraine.
So now we have another disaster that can be laid at the feet of “foreign policy wonk” Joseph R. Biden.
This is a direct result of Biden’s disastrous withdrawal from Afghanistan. Biden is a senile fool, as his press conference on Feb 22 revealed. The stench of failure is spreading. Economy — fail. Race relations — fail. Immigration — fail. Covid — fail.
Foreign policy was supposed to be Biden’s strong point, if you believe the media.

  36. We will undergo a complete global influence power realignment during Adults in the White House™ tenure. And none, not an iota, will be to the benefit of the USA. We are in for long, dark, economic cold war. Well, I hope it is cold, but could be wrong – never know what Jughead will do from his basement when he runs out of pudding.

  37. Putin has wanted to get Ukraine back in Russia’s orbit for years. What enabled it now?
The Afghanistan disaster revealed that Biden and his foreign service people and his generals are not interested in any foreign conflict.
The increase in the price of oil and gas.
This all on Slow Joe, 76 in his class of 85 at a third tier law school. Slow Joe, who has been wrong on every domestic and foreign policy initiative since the cold war.
You got the president you deserve, Democrats!
