It would be easy, and understandable, after watching the rampant property and violent crime, and the rioting that has mangled the quality of life and Innervated, and literally gutted, so many American cities going back to 2015, that the left has no interest in law enforcement.

The dim bulb mayor of Baltimore even described it openly, saying that government needs to give rioters “room to destroy“.

Perhaps it should come as no surprise that People on the left can get very creative indeed when it comes to enforcing the laws – provided the “offenders” are on the right.

A friend of the blog sent me this bit of brow furrowing from the Canadian left, on the trucker protests, which appears to be a greater crisis than World War II – and has re-introduced the Canadian left to a fairly radical concept, noted in bold below:

Police are the only ones who can defuse the convoy protest peacefully, said Candyce Kelshall, the president of the Canadian Association for Security and Intelligence Studies in Vancouver.

Protest is legal. Breaking the law makes it illegal.

And, almost as if gift wrapped and sent to the Minneapolis police department, and the Hennepin and Ramsey county attorneys offices…:

If police look impotent, that’s the way they are perceived,” said Kelshall. “It emboldens people.”

Huh.

Why, it’s almost as if the enforcement of laws depends on the “criminals” you’re talking about.

I would bet a shiny new quarter that the mayor of Ottawa won’t be abandoning any police stations to the truckers.

  1. And I hope Neil Young will remember…Neil Peart:
No his mind is not for rent
    To any god or government
    Always hopeful, but discontent,
He knows changes aren’t permanent – but change is!

  2. When you ban peaceful protests, citizens register their dissent in less peaceful ways. Trudeau is creating a monster. –Exjon

  3. Tip O’Neil famously said that all politics is local. Law and order is the most salient local issue for most people. No other issue is so much in people’s daily lives. The Democrats made a big mistake getting on the wrong side of this issue.

  4. Early on, the Ottawa police were helping the truckers by delivering food and water to the truckers, seemingly supporting them. Now, they have changed their tune. I guess that Herr Trudeau’s memo hadn’t gone out yet.

On another note, the mayor of Ottawa, allegedly called every towing company within a 20 mile radius, trying to hire them to remove the trucks, but, karma hit. All of those companies told the mayor that they were infected with WuFlu, so they couldn’t help. Boo! Ya!

  5. And Court issued an injunction – no more horns! That’s illegal now in Ottawa – you use a car horn, you do not pass Go, you go directly to Jail! Libturds are living up to their fascist heros because you imitiate what you lust for.

  6. When you lose Daily Mail, you’ve lost the narrative. And right on cue there is an insider warning RCMP (yes, Dudley DoRight) will be mounting (pun intended) opposition to Truckers, including mass arrests. Hmmm… Mobilizing federal force against its citizens (also means they are not using police force) is REALLY good optics for the UniParty. FUCK ‘EM ALL!

  7. Sorry, here is the headline from Daily Mail:

Freedom Convoy truckers say Trudeau and North America’s liberal media are falsely demonizing them as ultra-right-wing crazies. And after spending a week in
their midst, the Mail’s reporter can only conclude these peaceful, good-natured
protestors are 100% correct about that – if nothing else

  8. These people — elected officials like Mike Freeman, Keith Ellison, and about half the Minneapolis city council — ran on a program of destroying law enforcement. Ellison represented people who had killed cops. On his web page, Freeman brags about putting cops in jail, and diverting young criminals out of prison. “Defund the police” is not a new concept. These are part of the madness that has possessed the intellectual elites of the Left. They believe that arresting people and putting them in jail causes crime. They are quite clear about this. The Democrat voters in Minneapolis and HennCo knew exactly what they were getting. This was not a hidden agenda.
It is the Democrat party. Which Democrats have denounced this? James Carville?

I admire the pained contortions some people attempt as they explain why demanding Kaepernick’s firing was swell and all-American but demanding Rogan’s firing is evil and un-American. Also Neil Young boycotting Spotify is fascism and cancel culture while football fans boycotting the NFL over players taking a knee is just free speech.

  10. I’ll help you out here troll, small words so you understand.

    1. I want Rogan silenced.

    2. I won’t watch NFL (but they will still be there playing), not silenced.

Too much for you to handle there?

  11. Who is Colin Kaepernick?
No one can quite say what Rogan has done that should result in Spotify taking him off the air. This is because his critics are not rational. Rogan did not call for a vax avoidance.
The real problem here is something that has been going on for years. The radical left does not understand that in the US, people are allowed to express opnions that they do not like. Leftists want to cancel Rogan, who endorsed Bernie for prez, because he gave a platform to the object of their latest 2 minutes of hate.
Emery likes to use the word “disinformation.” I’ve asked him to define what he means by “misinformation,” and he has yet to do so. Weird since he believes that “misinformation” is a thing that is a serious problem and should be condemned and even censored.
Anyhow, my definition of misinformation, which tracks closely to the M-W definition, is “information which is intended to deceive or mislead.”
Seems simple enough to me, but the problem the left has with that definition is the word “intended.” The minds of human beings are mysteries. Intent is hard to prove, even with documentation. The things they consider misinformation are often just opinions that they do not agree with, and refuse to debate.

  12. I was mainly illustrating that not all Canadians named Neil are f***ists. Some are/were quite decent fellows and deep thinkers.

If consistency is the point, though, then it is a bitter irony that an “I will not be repressed” rebel from the 70s has literally changed his tune now that the jackboot is on the other foot. I suppose some would say it’s not ironic at all, however.

  13. Wait a minute. Kaepernick was fired? I thought nobody wanted to hire him as a quarterback.

  14. Rumble has offered Rogan $100 mil to jump to their platform, where he can say nigger whenever he wants, mock trannies whenever he wants and interview who ever he wants.

That’s swell, I guess. But after the shameful, tear squirting apology Rogan posted, personally I think it’s best if he just fades away. He shamed us all.
