Poetic Justice

Ilhan Omar, Jeremiah Ellison and Phillipe Cunningham – the three biggest champions of the “Defund the Police” madness – had a campaign rally in North Minneapolis yesterday.

It was apparently sparsely attended.

But it was the people nearby that drew the attention; audio tweet below::

The MPD apparently doesn’t respond to shootings that don’t hit anyone anymore (although I have a hunch that’d change around Omar, Ellison, Cunningham or Lisa Bender’s houses), so the media will feel no obligation to cover it. Although that might also have something to do with the fact that the “machine guns” involved are utterly illegal, have been for eight decades, and are still everywhere.

It’s enough to make you wish there were a viable politifal opposition in Minneapolis. Because this’d be a great opportunity.

  1. The citizens of Minneapolis are getting the government that they voted for, a council and mayor who represent the city’s criminal class. If you live in Minneapolis, and you don’t like the way it is run, leave. No one is keeping you there, and, brother, you ain’t going to change it, no matter how hard you vote.
    Ditto Saint Paul.

  2. Based on comments from the mighty, mighty CrimeWatchMpls, the media feels little or no obligation to cover any criminal activities unless they are already well known. And then they just kype the info from CWM anyway (without any credit, of course). The media reports never seem to include the names and pics of the judges that let the criminals back out on the streets.

I have made comments here about in the recent past about how residents in the Twin Cities essentially deserve what’s coming to them because they keep voting in people who have shown little or no interest making “things” better. Bill Glahn recently wrote a Twitter thread examining how the commies have rigged the local electoral systems in the Twin Cities. Rank Choice Voting is the final capstone to that effort. Even if there were a viable political opposition in Mpls it is darn near impossible to vote it in. Mitch. this topic would be a very important one to blog about because that Twitter thread was so disorganized.

PS, that Shotspotter video… did you know that there’s a working conspiracy populated and funded by commies against the product. The conspiracy includes the ACLU.

  3. … and, oh yeah, by the way, have you seen that the new commie talking point about the recent and worsening wave of crime is that it’s the cops’ fault? The cops just aren’t doing their job.

  4. Although that might also have something to do with the fact that the “machine guns” involved are utterly illegal, have been for eight decades, and are still everywhere

We need more restrictive laws with harsher penalties…….

…….which will never be enforced, because that would be “punching down”…unless of course some poor slob in rural Pine City modifies an AR15 to impress his friends.

  5. “ Although that might also have something to do with the fact that the “machine guns” involved are utterly illegal, have been for eight decades, and are still everywhere.”

    Wrong, Mr. gun expert.

They’re illegal in MN, because of state law. In places where the government doesn’t rule like emperors, it’s perfectly legal to purchase a fully automatic firearm as long as you pay the $250 federal license fee and survive an FBI background check.

Same is true of suppressors, which I see in growing abundance at the range here.

  6. If true, BPCT, and assuming that thesr gun mods were made in violation of federal law, I am certain that AG Merrick Garland will be right on it, just as soon as his g-men get back from patrolling PTA meetings.

  7. Garland had his ass handed to him last week by several GOP congressmen with balls. A note to our resident ChiCom bot boy troll. Garland confirmed that none of the peaceful protesters at the January 6 visit to the capitol, have been charged with “insurrection”.

  8. I don’t know if those rifles were modified, MP. It’s just as likely they were made to be fully automatic; as I said, they are legally available and there are retailers that specialize in them. Hell, Palmetto State armory offers fully automatic rifles for rent at their indoor ranges (18 and up, no felonies)….they love them because a session will go through several boxes of their spendy ammunition.

They could also have been using one of those wretched bump stocks, which are to be had in abundance.

I’m just surprised that a guy who is supposedly a gun expert would post something so clearly wrong….maybe Merg is “shooting” for Rev. Nancy’s job.

  9. They’re illegal in MN, because of state law

They’re not illegal, but the restrictions on what may be owned and who may own them are strict enough so they might seem like they’re illegal.

  10. BPCT, I hear that the gangbangers use some kind of kit to change a semi-auto pistol so that one trigger pull empties the magazine.

  11. Mitch, you’re mistaking this appearance for a campaign rally to get out the vote. Democrats don’t need to get voters out of their homes to cast votes in the polling place. That’s the last thing they want. Democrats get vote the old-fashioned way – they manufacture them.

These three want media coverage solely for the fundraising benefit. Got to keep the hate alive to keep the checks coming in.

  12. I’d expect that the audiences likely to be attracted to an Omar, Ellison, Cunningham gathering would also be a target-rich environment for drive-by shooters. Even if I wanted to hear what they had to say, I’d give the event a wide berth. (On a related note, I wonder how many bars on 7th Street in St. Paul are now hosting hip-hop nights since the Truck Park shooting.)

  13. NW, I’m guessing that Omar et al chose a fairly benign neighborhood in the “low crime” times (e.g. in the morning) for what really amounts to more of a plea for favorable Strib coverage than any real campaign event. Omar et al really don’t need to campaign to win, because even marrying one’s brother doesn’t seem to bother the Strib and her voters.

  14. Gad, what a bunch of awful people those pols are. Awful.

Apparently the full-auto guns heard in Mpls are primarily illegal conversions from regular semi-automatic (AKA self-loading) firearms.

There are full-auto “switch” kits that fit Glock-pattern pistols and attach with a simple parts swap. Many have been illegally imported from China via Wish.com & Ali Baba.
(This is likely by design- China is A$&hoe)
Also “auto sear” parts that can be fitted to AR-15-pattern weapons have been both clandestinely imported and produced via 3D printing domestically.

BATFE, FBI, and US Marshals are all active in trying to squelch the supply, here and elsewhere. It’s a nationwide problem at the moment.
