When He’s Right…

In Paul Johnson’s classic history of the 20th century, Modern Times, the pivotal chapter, about the moral collapse underway in the 1970s, combined with the peak of communism‘s fortunes around the world, was called “the Suicide of the West“.
The first edition of the book was written just as Reagan had been elected, and after Margaret Thatcher had been on the job for about a year at trying to fix things, so that 80s as we know them today were just the faintest wisp of hope as Johnson wrote the history at the time.
And as awful as that era was, things are far worse today. I don’t think the term “suicide of the west“ is inappropriate.

That’s easy to say when you’re enjoying the peace and contentment of a largely homogeneous population.
Drop off a few planeloads of sub-Saharan Africans and they’d be singing a different tune.

That’s the beauty of it. Russia controls their borders to prevent all of those sub-Saharan types from getting into their country in hordes. In other words, they have to be invited.

Putin is a nasty human being. He has robbed the Russian people of billions in order to make himself and his cronies wealthy. Putin routinely kills his political opponents, not because they are a threat to Russia, but because they are a threat to him, personally. Trump wisely kept in place and added to sanctions againt Putin and his merry band of killer bandits.

I’m constantly struck by the DemoCommie’s willingness to kiss Chairman Xi’s ass, take money from him and give he and Putin, everything they want, not realizing that if China does take over the U.S., they will be the first ones eliminated.

I am not going to try and read Putin’s mind, but I will note that he has the typical profile of an Eastern tyrant.
Putin is sixty-nine years old. He would probably love to retire to some tropical island, but he can’t. His only security resides in his control of the Russian FSB, and he loses that as soon as he gives up power.
