Open Letter To The “Withhold Treatment From The Unvaccinated” Crowd

Re: Withholding treatment

If you’re one of those “medical professionals” who believes one can make a medically-ethical case for withholding treatment to the unvaccinated, then where do you stop?

Smokers? I mean, the warnings have been out there for decades.

The obese? It’s not like they don’t know.

Addicts of all kinds?

Diabetics who haven’t been enthusiastic enough in their regimen?

Motorcycle riders? I mean, they don’t call a two-wheel endorsement a “donor card” for nothing.

Trump voters? After all, they are responsible for all the world’s ills, in some of your worldviews.

Or maybe Republicans in general?

Pick a line, and tell us why?

Bonus question: as government takes over more and more of healthcare, even if society doesn’t go single-payer, can you see where this particular set of “medical” judgments turning into policy could turn into a very bad thing?

Just curious.

That is all.

  1. What I’ve learned this week:

“Hospitals should only admit people that have engaged in lifestyles that minimize the possibility of all harms.”

  2. That’s their endgame, once you have no choice about healthcare, even if it’s not single payer as you say, then through the medical bureaucracy the left can force behaviors or limit or eliminate behaviors.

    Do you own a gun?
    None of your business.
Fine, I’ll just consult this gun ownership registry which the left was able to sell as a Universal background check. Oops, gun, sorry, no treatment.

  3. Would this new rule apply to unvaccinated illegal aliens sneaking across the border? That certainly would help ease the burden on health care facilities in Texas and Arizona.

  4. We can either have freedom, or we can have government funded healthcare. We cannot have both.

  5. Delta is self insured meaning the company is responsible for all healthcare costs. They should absolutely charge a higher premium to employees who choose to be a higher cost risk.

Interesting that those crying “freedom” don’t believe private companies should be able to set their own policies based on their own financial interests. Freedom for me, but not for thee, I guess. I have a Delta flight coming up and I support this decision wholeheartedly.

  6. So, sure there little guy. Do they charge more for smokers, fatties, trannies, alkies, druggies, gluttons, people who drive too fast, people who don’t exercise, people who have “dangerous” hobbies, etc, etc…

  7. ^ Capitalist Commies like me who qualify for the Platinum Medallion program receive nice upgrades.

  8. Some people have fatal reactions to the vaccine. A television news reporter in Britain got the jab, died of blood clots in the brain two weeks later. Even the vax-loving BBC is reporting this as a vaccine fatality.

So if employers are forcing their employees to get vaxxed, they are opening themselves up for anyone that can prove damages from a bad reaction.
I’ve flown a few times since the pandemic began. What terrifies airlines like delta isn’t health care costs of their employees, it is the US government shutting them down because of the risk of airplanes becoming covid hot spots.

  9. Very sad that you need to resort to strawmen/extremist stances as an excuse/distraction from for the right’s lack of fortitude on pushing for vaccination.

The southern part of the country has hospital staff which is exhausted from treating those WHO ARE UNVACCINATED. They aren’t saying they won’t treat them, that’s just the fevered response of some very angry people, angry at right-wing stupidity. Their anger may be justified but violating the hypocratic oath is not. It’s deeply immoral.

But again, you focusing on this rather irrelevant “proposal” is akin to the left focusing on those of you on the right who advocate for shooting left-leaning people for treason because they don’t support the idea that the election was a fraud. Do you support shooting/jailing people on the left who don’t agree with you?

It’s a stupid, infantilizing point. Try to get on the big picture here. The big picture is you righties are causing needless deaths and harm by trivializing both vaccinations and mask usage, making it about “fredumbs” (news flash, you don’t have a freedom to fail to comply with a national health crisis requirement except in extremely limited cases like it violates your religious practice). That’s why I mock the stupidity of “freedumbs.” You can elect to not get vaccinated, and your employer can fire you, and property owners can ban you from entry, that’s THEIR freedom.

But yeah, let’s demonize the left, further hatred, after all, just like on 1/6, you have to have your boogey-man to justify your immoral response.

  10. Do you support shooting/jailing people on the left who don’t agree with you?

Why not? You and your ilk started down this road.

But yeah, let’s demonize the left

Do you even fucking read what you write? You’re the worst transgressor. New rules. Your rules.

  11. ^ The unvaccinated vs vaccinated divide is more like a small minority that is far more vocal than its size suggests vs. just about everyone else.

  12. A divide is a small vocal minority that has size against everyone else… do I have that right?

  13. “You can elect to not get vaccinated, and your employer can fire you, and property owners can ban you from entry, that’s THEIR freedom.”

Good to know. I intend to refuse to serve unvaccinated people at my newly segregated lunch counter (vax only, no unvax allowed).

Except . . . a large portion of the unvax are Black people. My decision will have a disparate impact on the Black community. In the olden days, that was racial discrimination. Have the rules changed? Is it okay to discriminate against Blacks using the pretext of vax?

  14. Do you support shooting/jailing people on the left who don’t agree with you?

I refuse to answer that question on the grounds it may incriminate me.

  15. Most recent big lies:

    1) exhausted hospital staff
    2) children dying in the thousands
    2) its Trump voters not getting vaxxed (its blacks and hispanics, unions and younger, secular, apolitical people. And hospital workers.)
    3) whatever patsy boy is saying.

  16. jdm was correct like a stuck clock.

Wèi jiēzhǒng yìmiáo yǔ jiēzhǒng yìmiáo de fēnqí gèng xiàng shì yī xiǎo bùfèn rén, qí shēngyīn yuǎn bǐ qí guīmó suǒ ànshì de yāo dà dé duō

The divergence between unvaccinated and vaccinated is more like a small group of people, whose voice is much louder than its scale implies.

  17. Peevee sneaks in and squeeks, then scurries off. Peevee is a well trained rat.

  18. I know two things, little guy. You’re still writing nonsense in that a divide or a distinction has no size and second, I’m right two more times each day than you are. Geez, isn’t this where you usually come with your cliche about taking it back for an edit and punch it up a bit?

Are you trying to say that the unvaccinated as a group when compared to the vaccinated is far more vocal than its size suggests? Is that the pearl of wisdom you’ve been trying to state? Wow, that’s astute.

  19. AssholE is having a tough day. His stumbling, incompetent leader’s fecklessness has just cost the lives of 13 US Marines, and 120 Afghanis. Then he went on teevee and looked like a whipped dog.

  20. AssholE is having a tough day. His stumbling, incompetent leader’s fecklessness has just cost the lives of 13 US Marines, and 120 Afghanis. Then he went on teevee and looked like a whip-ped dog.

  22. Health “insurance “ no longer excludes pre-existing conditions, riders aren’t added to policies, so the idea of not treating the unvaccinated is on the wrong side of history. I took care of plenty of patients who neglected to change life styles, get preventive care and so forth. They’re still out there. Imagine the outcry about denial of care to the obese, addicts, smokers, unbelted drivers.

All we need to do to put blacks into rebellion against the real racists, is to start by telling them that Warren Wilhelm DeBlasio, is going to prevent them from sitting at the lunch counter and move to the back of the bus.

  25. Ummmm – how do these “compassionate” liberals feel about first responders administering Narcan to those who OD?
