Although it helps if you stockpiled some parts before this past year’s buying frenzy.
Not that I’d know anything about that.

When my sons were younger, they were absorbed with learning to do stunts on their bikes….stunts involving getting big air, and crushing landings.
We went through a progression of ever more expensive bikes which all eventually submitted the the abuse.
So then we built bikes. Cranks, sprockets, gears, bearings, races, forks, wheels and handle bars were chosen. I welded bracing to frames on hand (we had plenty to choose from). Colors were chosen and carefully applied.
Half the fun was in the careful selection of the parts. The lads became obsessive in the assembly; “How many Ft./lbs on the head stock nut pre-load?” “Shouldn’t we be using lithium grease?”
The finished products were more expensive than any of the predecessors taken singly, but a hell of a lot cheaper that the totality of wreckage. All three bikes survived to be sold at a profit when they moved on to cars.
That was back when America was still a viable country. Was it real, or a pleasant dream?
Now we build rifles and alert one another to in-stock ammo supplies.
Why did we allow degenerates to do this to us?
