Joe Doakes from Como Park emails:
Does this look like $125? On the other hand, they were delivered right to my doorstep when I know there’s none to be had within a hundred miles, so I’m not complaining.
Not for me, of course, since I lost all my firearms in that tragic canoe accident a while back. Stocking stuffers for the boys and son-in-law. Should be a pretty good Christmas this year.

$1.25 a round? I’ve seen 5.56 higher than that. That’s some good shopping.
We may have to talk.
Hypothetically, I mean.
Remember; A gun without ammunition is just a pretty sculpture!
Last time I watched The Walking Dead, the characters had more ammo than that.
All you need is 22 LR. That’s what the pope’s assassin army use.
I quit watching TWD when they ran a story arc about how reloading brass was mysterious, arcane knowledge so rare that only a few individuals could do it successfully, like turning lead to gold.
Last year CCI made red and green tipped .22LR that came in a nice holiday jar.
I gave a few people that for Christmas last year.
My relatives loved getting the gift of ammo.
I contacted them this year and they are not making it.
Can’t reload without primers, which I’d guess will be hard to obtain After The Fall.
Remember paintings of the Pilgrims, women in long dresses wearing bonnets, men in buckle hats carrying a blunderbuss? I always wanted a blunderbuss. And look – no primers to run out of.

1.25/round is highway robbery. Did Sgt. Schulz snuck in an executive order prohibiting sales of ammo along with the lockdown mandate?
Joe – I’ll let you go for the blunderbuss. I’m going to stick with a sword and a bow. Or, maybe a wrist rocket – fast rate of reload, and pretty accurate.
On a side note, since ammo is scarce, I’ve managed to do more dry-fire training than I have in years. It’s good to get back to basics sometimes!
I recently saw an ad for commercial “reloads” by Montana’s BVAC of 9mm that were $2 round for lots of 250 rounds. Limit one lot per customer.
for quiet and deadly up to 70 yrds try a reverse draw crossbow rated at 185lbs or above. Use 2 blade mechanical broadheads on carbon bolts — they are reuseable(if you can find them)
target practice is quiet, and doesn’t usually draw out frightened neighbors
I know I overpaid, but it’s Winchester brand and new brass. I’ve always been an ammo snob: no reloads or Russian steel cases for me.
But lately, I dunno – I see Biden’s preparing Executive Orders to end crime in America by banning guns and ammo. Maybe colluding with Russians to get a pile of cheap 5.56 wouldn’t be the worst thing in the world. If I buried a Mason jar in the back yard full of $1 bills or Russian bullets, which would be more useful after Slow Joe and the Ho take office?
Might have to rethink that strategy.
