As Ruth Bader Ginsburg and Barack Obama showed us, when you’re seen as “the first” at something (incorrectly, in Ginsburg’s case), you really don’t have to do that much or do it all that well to be revered as an epochal hero.

I’m old enough to remember when the phrase “a credit to his race” wouldn’t have caused a meltdown. Jackie Robinson was an exceptional athlete and a tough guy as well. James Meredith, first black at Ole Miss was fearless. Likewise the students integrating the Little Rock schools under protection of Federal bayonets. Today’s race porn heroes pale (pun intended) by comparison.
Shockingly low expectations indeed. Trump claims he won the popular vote (incorrectly), that he had the largest electoral victory (incorrectly) and that he had th largest inauguration crowds (wrongly), the first three (ish) of what were 20,000 lies in 4 years, not just wrong, outright lies – but hey, let’s do the full hypocrite thing and complain about an inaccuracy of Harris’ (that’s assuming you’re right – I’m giving you the benefit of the doubt).
When you start behaving seriously about the egregious lies and usurpation of rights engaged in by this President and your corrupt party, when you stop being step-and-fetch-it to the PC -isms of the far-right, I’ll worry a little more about your complaints.
Until then, this goes in the same dust bin as your sophistry about death rates and red states. Incidentally Mitch, where is your notation that ND yesterday notched the highest per capita death rate to COVID in the WORLD?! Clearly, that’s far less important than some quip by Harris. They have such a large problem they have to ask the Air Force to lend a hand covering nursing staffing needs – but yeah, your whinging about inaccuracies from Harris (while TOTALLLY ignoring Trump’s outright dishonest assault on our election system) – well YAH, that’s so important. I won’t hold my breath waiting for you to ‘fess up about being utterly wrong about the superiority of red states on Covid as…well….

Just north of us, an old bachelor Norwegian farmer was the only resident of a little now abandoned prairie ghost town. He was 97 when he died a “COVID related death”.
That gives the town a 100% death rate.
I doubt that anyone can beat a 100% – other than a few voting districts in Wisconsin, Illinois, Michigan, Pennsylvania and Georgia.
On the other hand, an administration that is boring and “doesn’t deliver” could be seen as successful in some circles.
Not a single spectacularly unqualified pick for Biden’ Cabinet thus far.
In this regard, a marked departure from the past four years.
Yes, not a single spectacularly unqualified pick for the Cabinet, Emery. It’s not like Jake Sullivan was heavily involved in the Iran deal that gave the world’s #1 promoter of terrorism tens of billions of dollars, was a key part of the deception in Benghazi, and was a key part of illegally forwarding classified information to Hilliary Clinton’s email server.
Call me weird, Emery, but it looks like Sullivan belongs in the Big House, not the White House. And I’m not referring to Michigan Stadium here, either. Yes, Sullivan is spectacularly unqualified by any rational criterion.
Biden’s Cabinet will be competent and their views will be considered relevant by the President. This is unexceptional but will reflect a change from the Trump Administration.
Now onto the corrupt pardons phase of the presidential transition.
There ya go again, Emery. Maybe you can talk about another “czar” he wants, a guy who actually met with the Viet Cong in Paris while American soldiers were still dying in Vietnam.
Oh, that escaped you, too? What about another nominee for State, a guy who was, according to official State Department records, meeting with Hunter for some odd reason?
Sorry, Emery,but that’s a whole lot more significant to me than, say, Michael Flynn talking to the Russians in the transition period. Just sayin’. Really, the main huge error Trump made with his cabinet was Alex Acosta, a guy who had gone through two administrations prior.
Now if you want to talk about incompetents in the Cabinet, let’s talk about Hilliary or John F’in Kerry at State. Let’s talk about Janet Reno, Eric Holder, or Loretta Lynch at Justice. Let’s talk about “TurboTax” Tim Geithner at the Treasury, Solis at Labor, Duncan in Education, Shinseki and MacDonald at Veterans, and Napolitano at Homeland Security. Lot of those folks belong in jail, Emery, and Biden is actively choosing their former subordinates for his cabinet.
Biden appointees continue to under- represent the Weirdo-American community.
