“It’s An Ideology!”

“Anti”-Fa, we’re told, is not a real group, but rather an ideology.

So, for that matter, was Al Quaeda.

An the comparison holds up all the way down to the root level:

There are different types of bloc organization styles. The building block of antifa is what’s called an affinity group, people you live and work with and trust and know in real life. All the planning is done within that closed bloc, and they don’t let everyone know [what they’re going to do]. I didn’t know that they were going to burn the Portland Police Association when I joined. What they did was put a call out that said, “Anyone show up in black that night at this place, and you can join the action.”

That’s called a semi-open bloc. The planning is done within the closed group, but anyone who’s dressed in black can come join the action. If you know what you’re looking for, you can spot affinity groups that are working together. One thing they’ll do sometimes is have written agreements with other protest organizations that aren’t in black bloc. I know of one from Berkeley that illustrates this: “We agree that to not take pictures of anyone in antifa.” It will say that literally in writing, so everyone’s working together. It’s like a combined arms type thing, almost like the military. They work together and are mutually reinforcing.

  1. The same tools the JD and the FBI used to crush the KKK could easily be used to crush antifa. Identify the networks — and believe me, cash and information is being moved around — and start grand jury investigations & let the indictments roll out.
Throw a few of the higher ups in jail. Freeze bank accounts & otherwise disrupt their financing. Monitor their communications.
None of this would work against White supremacists. They have already had their networks destroyed. What organized movements have any of the white supremacist killers been members of?
The Oklahoma City bombing was the deadliest attack, ever, by US domestic terrorists. The attackers were a “closed bloc.”
The FBI says of its investigation into the OK city bombing “By the time it was over, the Bureau had conducted more than 28,000 interviews, followed some 43,000 investigative leads, amassed three-and-a-half tons of evidence, and reviewed nearly a billion pieces of information.”
Only three people were tried and convicted for the crime.
There is no “white supremacist” network that is burning buildings and assaulting citizens.
There is a marxist network that is responsible for burning buildings and assaulting citizens and law enforcement.
Let’s find out who the antifa organizers are & put them away for a long, long time.

  2. No worries. Trump is going to declare them domestic terrorists aaaaaany day now.

  3. It’s very interesting that the left applies this logic (?) to Antifa, but would never have considered doing the same for the KKK or the Mob. It is as if they know exactly how these organizations are put together, and their criteria for whether the organization even exists “just happens” to be one that they know the organization will never meet.

It’s a lot like their approach to voter fraud. Knowing that most prosecutors don’t bother with it, their criteria is not whether known voters are dead or living at nonexistent addresses, or whether there are more voters than residents of voting age, but rather “have people been convicted”. The fix is always in with them.

  5. Nice threadjack, Emery. But let’s face facts; you’re not going to find an org chart or company headquarters for the “Michigan Militia”, either, so why is it that the left gets all worked up about them, but not about Antifa, when the latter have caused a lot more damage recently? Why is it that the criteria for declaring a group “terrorist” mysteriously disappear when the left is sympathetic to the group’s goals?

    Sauce for the goose, man.

  6. ^^ Prediction: if someone asks Trump about the Michigan Militia guys, his response will be along the lines of “well, a lot of people are angry, the shutdowns are unfair.”

  7. Prediction: Emery will be unable to keep on topic, or address questions directly stated to him.
