More!

Governor Walz extended the Stay Home order again. But this time, he
specifically invites the Legislature to step up. That’s the right thing
to do, they should be involved. They should be weighing costs versus
benefits
.

Now, who will be the first legislator to introduce a resolution to
terminate/modify the order?

Joe Doakes

New House GOP Caucus? It’s your time to shine.

(Although in a practical sense it’s gonna have to be the Senate).

  1. Walz claims that he wants the Legislature to step up and be involved. The problem is he’s not sharing information with the members. For one of the previous orders, even the DFL House Leadership found out what was in the order through WCCO.
As to the New House Republicans, they are proposing these things. The Dflers and Daisy’s people a quashing them. It only gets worse from there.

  2. From Ace a few days ago:

“One of the reasons I did fairly well with magazine and book publishing is that I have always had a good feel for the mood of the American mob. This morning I can feel several hundred million Americans getting fed up to here with this current clown show.

You can feel it too, can’t you?” – Gerard Van der Leun

  3. Today, April 20th, the House is holding a public hearing on HF3826, local property taxation, properties eligible for Class 4b classification expanded. Looks as if they’re trying to cover Airbnb rentals.

Seriously? THAT’S more compelling business than getting Minnesota’s economy moving again?

I’d like to see Republicans learn how to play politics by taking a few pages from the Democrats’ playbook.

Offer a resolution to rescind the Stay Home order and replace it with The Republican Plan To Reopen Minnesota. Don’t care what the details are, just need to have it on offer so they can hammer it.

Tweet about the plan asking why the House won’t debate it, every twenty minutes until the media notices.

Go find some small town newspapers that are not completely dominated by the DFL, and have House members call them or better still, talk to them, in person. Maple Lake Messenger Exclusive: An Interview with Rep. Doakes.

Mention it in the opening remarks of every comment. “Mr. Speaker, I rise to address the issue before us since we have nothing better to do as long as House Democrats are still blocking the Republican Plan to Reopen Minnesota.”

Buy a television ad. “If you’re seeing this, then you’re still under Governor Walz’ house arrest even though the danger has long since passed. The Republicans have a plan to reopen Minnesota so you can get back to work. Why won’t the DFL consider it? Call your state representative today. Tell them to Put Minnesota to Work.”

Find somebody to conduct a push poll which will result in 72% of Minnesotans believing the Stay Home order has gone on too long and should be revoked today.

There are cracks in the unity. People are waking up. But they’re not grumbling enough. We need to INCREASE voter dis-satisfaction with the DFL. Get them annoyed enough to complain to the media. Because that’s all the DFL cares about – looking good in the media.

  4. Walz sees the approaching cliff & wants to spread the blame.
    Don’t let him do that.

  5. Let your politicians know that you will hold them responsible for their actions. They aren’t allowed to outsource health & economic decisions to “experts” who have record of being wildly wrong.

  6. Look at the record of the epidemiologists’ models BEFORE covid-19. They have been wildly wrong in virtually every case, and always on the side of overestimating the number of deaths.

  7. Walz has laready signed on to the “regional pact” to spread the blame, but he’s covering all bases. If there were any GOP with balls they’d take that bet and run down the damn street with it.

History says they don’t, and they wont.
