This Should Bring Out The Left’s Psycho Ghouls

Rush Limbaugh confirms he’s been diagnosed with lung cancer:

“Ladies and gentleman, this day has been one of the most difficult days in recent memory for me because I’ve known this moment was coming in the program today,” Limbaugh began. “I’m sure you all know by now, I really don’t like talking about myself, and I don’t like making things about me other than in the usual satirical, joking way.”
“So, I have to tell you something today that I wish I didn’t have to tell you,” he continued. “And it’s, it’s a struggle for me because I, I had to inform my staff earlier today. … I have been diagnosed with advanced lung cancer.”
He signed off by revealing that he hopes to be back on Thursday and said, “Every day I’m not here, I’ll be missing you and thinking about you.”

I can’t help but remember the way the soulless ghouls of the fever swamp cackled and chortled over Tony Snow’s untimely demise, long ago.

Thoughts and prayers for the man who’s done more than any other to keep radio – not just talk – alive for almost three decades.

  1. Rush getting a standing O and being presented with the Presidential Medal of Freedom by Malania was worth the price of admission to tonight’s State of the Union address.
Rush is an American original. There will never be a Canadian or Aussie or European “Rush Limbaugh.”

  2. I have listened to Rush since he had a regular radio program. His announcement actually brought tears to my eyes, because as soon as I processed the information, my first thought was who can pick up the torch from him and continue his legacy? He is irreplaceable. I pray that God works a miracle for such a staunch defender of our Republic.

It just perfectly encapsulates the Trump administration’s massive and absolute incompetence when Rush Limbaugh and a 100-year-old Tuskegee Airman are in the same room and Rush Limbaugh is the one going home with a Presidential Medal of Freedom.

  4. Has me wondering who Obama overlooked when he awarded the medal to the perennial tough guy Biden?

  5. Uh Emery, did you miss the part where the Tuskegee man was promoted to Brigadeer General? Not exactly a trivial deal.

  6. Did you miss the part where Trump passed over the military hero to give an entertainer the MOF award?

  7. EI: did you miss the part where El Rushbo amassed an audience exceeding 20 million people and pretty much single-handedly started a revolution that extended the life of the AM band 25 years?

Hey, you want to pick at the recipients of the Presidential Medal of Freedom, have at it, but you’re going to find a lot of recipients whose impact was nowhere near as big as that of Mr. Limbaugh, and you’re going to find a lot of Presidents who gave the award to civilians instead of military heroes.

  8. Hey! Remember when Obama gave the PMOF to a sex predator? Yeah, that was back when the medal really meant something.

  9. “Did you miss the part where Trump passed over the military hero to give an entertainer the MOF award?”

Did you miss the part where the PMOF isn’t as a rule for military service?

If you think the Tuskeegee Airmen haven’t been recognized adequately via military citations and other decorations, make your case.

  10. Okay — I’ll bite.

It’s not like Rush Limbaugh didn’t overcome prejudice to heroically fight in a war to preserve freedom and take down Nazis and ensure victory in WWII. Yes, Rush had a talk radio show for a while. And a Tie-selling business.

Totally the same level of patriotism.

  11. Rush Limbaugh admitted Wednesday that receiving the Presidential Medal of Freedom was less of an honor knowing it had been bestowed upon Rosa Parks and Maya Angelou, too.

“While I understand this medal represents the highest civilian honor possible, I was a bit disconcerted to discover this morning that I share this distinction with both a civil rights icon and a poet who gave a voice to black Americans,” said Limbaugh, who explained that he hopes people don’t doubt his integrity as he joins the ranks of the award’s previous recipients, especially Cicely Tyson, Ralph Ellison, Archbishop Desmond Tutu, Stevie Wonder, and Willie Mays.

“I almost sent it back. But instead I have decided to keep my Medal of Freedom and let it stand as a testament to my willingness to tolerate others. I hope my acceptance of it will go some way toward reclaiming this honor from the Martin Luther Kings and Nelson Mandelas of the world.”

  12. Who knew that The Onion can be as petty and vindictive with their satire as the rest of the left is with their serious articles?

Of course, every leftist out there is saying “Fake but accurate”.

  13. I watched my mom die of Stage IV lung cancer, and don’t dislike anyone enough to applaud them getting it. I think Rush is a smug bigoted cockroach but wish him that realization, not bad health.
