Its almost like psychiatrists here are doing their best to emulate their colleagues from the Golden Age of Psychiatry in the CCCP when they were granted most favored status by the State/Party.
Leftist mental illness has thoroughly infected the ranks of the medical profession; it’s sad and disturbing. Although I do not engage in twittering or Fedbooking, I often get heads up from friends who do about MD’s of all stripes spewing absolute, utter insanity on social media. There are several men, but it seems that women have disproportionately been infected with this propensity to rave incoherently in public.
For that reason alone, I would fight against so-called “red flag laws”, even though I suffer from firearmophobia. Fact is, I wouldn’t want any of the specimens I’ve seen online putting a band-aid on my boo-boos.
Years ago I helped a Russian man successfully gain asylum in the U.S. The reason he fled Russia was that he had been working on a construction project near Kiev, and the boss was redirecting building materials from the site to be used in building his own dacha. My friend reported this crime against the Russian people to the proper authorities…and a few nights later he was taken from his home and put into a mental asylum for “his own protection” as he was clearly insane. No trial, no review panel. They held him for three years and tested experimental drugs on him until he finally signed a “confession” recanting his charges and was declared “sane”.
The value of a demonstrable malignant narcissism diagnosis is neither academic nor an exercise in armchair psychiatry. The value is in learning the drivers of the narcissist’s behavior and actions he is likely to take. The media fruitlessly attempts to understand the narcissist’s bizarre actions through the lens of policy, political platforms, and strategy; but the only dimension that consistently offers understanding is through the lens of ego preservation.

Worth noting is that it’s a serious breach of professional ethics to diagnose someone without actually seeing the person. Recommending a course of action makes it even worse. This, along with the horrible use of anonymous hearsay evidence to predicate the Mueller investigation, gives us a great picture of “this is what happens when Democrats get the power to shove things through–your rights and professional ethics go right out the window.”
Another huge breach of professional ethics–or rather a series of them–is the so-called impeachment “investigation”. Um, no mandatory discovery, no serious cross examination, no questions at the announcement? And again, if the Democrats will do that to Trump, they’ll do it to you.
