   I’m gonna hijack this ClownWorld update for some news.

   According to the Jerusalem Post, a Canadian businessman has testified in a Florida court, under oath, that Mogadishu Barbie was paid by Quatar for information which was passed to Iran.

   As to men and women and who’s what, remember, despite being specifically about Political Correctness, Theodore Dalrymple’s quote applies essentially all leftists positions:

   Political correctness is communist propaganda writ small. In my study of communist societies, I came to the conclusion that the purpose of communist propaganda was not to persuade or convince, nor to inform, but to humiliate; and therefore, the less it corresponded to reality the better. When people are forced to remain silent when they are being told the most obvious lies, or even worse when they are forced to repeat the lies themselves, they lose once and for all their sense of probity. To assent to obvious lies is to co-operate with evil, and in some small way to become evil oneself. One’s standing to resist anything is thus eroded, and even destroyed. A society of emasculated liars is easy to control. I think if you examine political correctness, it has the same effect and is intended to.

   Wow, I’ll not be holding my breath for the Democrats to figure out that this is a problem. On the flip side, this might explain how she’s been able to buy all those fashionable outfits and pay off her ex-husband so he’ll keep quiet.

   To the original topic, it strikes me that deeming everyone as the gender they say they want to be, there will be no safe spaces for either women or men anymore. One can have great sympathy for the “trans” community and still think that what we’re doing is a horrible idea.

   I can and do sympathize with those who are addressing it as the mental illness that it is. Those that are preying on children would be locked in the darkest pit if we were not living in Clown World, as would the parents that proffer their own kids for use.

   Swiftee, I used to be pretty regular Taki reader – think I even sent’em some money – but not so much anymore. Not sure why. I squirreled that quote away years ago and dredge it up again (and again) when a situation warrants.

   It is really amazing to observe the emergence of new and ever more insane leftist notions that almost instantly achieve wide-spread acceptance; notions that only a few years ago would’ve been rejected as just too weird. But nowadays, so many people have knuckled under to leftist insanities or become insane themselves that the incongruities of these notions and the results if implemented are simply ignored or waved away.

   I suppose an alternative explanation might be that many people, perhaps even most, really, really need a religion or something like it in their lives. Something that is primarily faith-based in which facts are secondary or even better irrelevant. Let’s call it The Church of Woke. With the Climate Change denomination or the Gun Control denomination or the LGBT…XYZ denomination or the Socialism Hasn’t Been Tried denomination… this all actually coincides with some reading I’ve doing about Millenarianism.

    Sex is biology – X Y chromosomes – male and female.

    Gender is behavior – masculine and feminine – short hair or long.

    The only way a “man” can have periods is if the word “man” means “wears short hair regardless of sex.” That’s not how Americans historically have used the word. It’s a usurpation, a redefinition, like changing “gay” from “happy” into “deviant.”

    In other words, it’s a lie.
