The Kobayashi Moron Test

So one dares not criticize “Progressive” establishments – like all major cities, especially the failed ones, like Baltimore – because racism.

But one dare not actually put one’s skin in the game and try to fix, or even tidy up after, the mess progressivism created, because…racism.

The Baltimore Sun bags on conservatives helping clean up the mess for which they’ve been a cheerleader for generations.

And by “clean up”, that’s literally what we’re talking about:

Brandon Morse wrote Tuesday about the inspiring story of conservative activists who stepped up to the plate to help citizens in the poverty-stricken areas of Baltimore. The effort was organized in the aftermath of the uproar over President Trump’s criticisms of the city and of Rep. Elijah Cummings, whose Congressional district runs through Baltimore.
[Scott] Presler, who said he is an ardent supporter of Trump, is a grassroots conservative activist who has an enormous social media following. Presler said one tweet last week launched 1,000 trash bags in Monday’s efforts.
Presler, who also told the news outlet that the gathering was not meant to be “pro-Trump” or “anti-Elijah Cummings”, posted numerous photos and videos of the clean-up day on his Twitter page.

Not good enough for the the Democrat party’s pro bono PR firm, the Baltimore Sun:

In a condescending piece titled “We assume it was pure motives that led a Trump supporter to launch a cleanup in Cummings’ district, right?”, here’s what they wrote (bolded emphasis added by me):
The effort was organized by pro-Trump activist Scott Presler. He claimed the event was not political. Yes, he was inspired to come by tweets from President Donald Trump describing the area, represented by U.S. Rep. Elijah Cummings, as a “rodent infested mess.” But the visit wasn’t about showing support or animosity for either man, he said.

Call us skeptical.

Call me unsurprised.

  1. Conservative have to have alterier motives, because the idea that they do anything out of the goodness of their heart is impossible to progressives because they are pure evil. Also, Im just waiting for the first person to ask what your referencing in your title. Its not exactly common knowledge in pop culture anymore.

  2. The “sin” here was twofold: First, proving that Trump was right and Baltimore IS a dump, and second, proving that it doesn’t have to be that way, except that is how it is being run (by Democrats). But, you know, as long as only the black population of Baltimore suffers, who cares? It is racist to point that out, so Baltimore doesn’t have to fix it.

  3. So, here’s a question, maybe this is more complicated than I understand, but can’t the blacks who live in these areas do a clean-up themselves in their own neighborhood? Perhaps organized by a local church? I mean, I congratulate Presler for his efforts as well as all of those who pitched in, but it looks to me like the soft bigotry of low expectations is simply being confirmed.

The fact that the Baltimore Sun is concerned this might have had political ramifications is just par for course from leftists for whom any and all activities have political ramifications.

  4. Voter turnout in Cummings’ district was just 43% in 2018. Many metropolitan districts have low turnout because the winner is decided in the primary, and the primary winner is chosen by party officials. That’s how a political machine works. The idea is to deny the voters a meaningful choice.
Obama was given his Illinois house seat because he excelled at registering new voters for the Democrats.

  5. Geez, jdm, you make it sound as if people of color who live in poverty in slums have less pride in their surroundings, less motivation to keep things nice, less energy, skill and enthusiasm for cleaning up trash instead of letting it fall and leaving it lay where it fell.

Next thing, you’ll be suggesting Section 8 tenants, and people who get no-money-down mortgage loans, are the reason affordable housing is rarely well maintained.

You’re dangerously close to suggesting there is a factual basis for stereotypes. That is completely contrary to The Narrative. You have been warned.

  6. Phew! Thanks for the warning, JD. I fully regret asking those questions. I don’t know what came over me to prefer the evidence of my own eyes vs what I’ve been told. You’re a Good Person.

  7. One time I started a new job in the morning, and at noon there was a going away lunch for someone who was leaving the company. The card landed on my new desk at 11. I double-checked the spelling of the woman’s name, wrote it on the card, and added the following message: “I feel as if I’ve known you for hours. Best wishes!”

  8. JD hits a metaphorical home run. Of course actually suggesting that is apparently racist in this newspeak world we live in today.

  9. Joe, I grew up in a poor, predominately Mexican neighborhood called “Palma Ceia” in Cali. Almost all my Mexican friends parents were married, and both lived at home. All of the dads worked. I don’t recall ever having met anyone who’s parents were here illegally.

Our neighborhood was tough, and definitely low income. My brothers and I fought the neighborhood kids daily until we’d been there a couple years, but you weren’t taking your life in your hands walking around there, and it was clean as any in the city. The houses were small and not fancy, but they were all impeccably maintained and everyone decorated them as best they could. There was no trash on the streets, no graffiti.

The predominately Negro neighborhoods in Oakland were every bit the dangerous, filthy pits they still are today. And just like today, the majority of Negroes living there were wards of the state. The kids had no daddy’s. Drugs and shootings were a fact of life there then, as they are today.

Today, there is a new generation of Mexicans in Cali. Many are here illegally. Many are wards of the state. Although Mexicans still seem to keep their homes a little better, barrios today are every bit as nasty as the Negro hoods were back in the day.

40 years of leftist rule has leveled they playing field in Utopia for non-Caucasians.

  10. If we are talking about Hispanics, what a DA if I may say so that El Paso shooter was. Trying to start a race war, there were two Hispanic families that feuded with each other in my hometown out west. And Muslims? They struck back after New Zealand, they strike any way and I certainly don’t mean all. We’ve got to be careful and respectful.
