Red Tape As Far As The Eye Can See

Joe Doakes from Como Pak emails:

If you wonder why we don’t have moon bases yet,  Laura Montgomery explains it in a May 8th column (scroll down).

I’m assuming this is why we don’t have the flying cars we were supposed to have by 2000.

“…with the fines being adjusted for inflation every four years at that time.”

The Fed runs with inflation and this increases our quality of life like these fines do. Be grateful or else.

Ever notice how when the government points a gun at you to increase it’s revenue, your quality of life goes up?

    Neither did I.

Well this is BS. I just purchased a de-milled Soviet ICMB from Cheaper Than Dirt. You think I’m not gonna fire that sucker off?

As if…let ’em come and me.

national debt service when Bush left office 1.4% GDP

“national debt service when Bush left office 1.4% GDP
national debt service when Obama left office 2.4% GDP”

…and when the 10 year treasury hits 4% the USA is complete busted.

It is literally impossible now for any combination of inflation and growth to “defease” our debt.

Kinda reinforces the ominous overtone of the old saying: “We are here from the goobernment and are here to help”.

I’m thinking flying cars and moon bases might have something to do with “cost of doing it”, but I can’t deny that the cost of regulation might have something to do with a lot of other problems.

The problem is that there is no demand for a moon base.
Virtually all advances in space exploration have been driven by national security concerns. The promise of profit comes in second. Thinking it would be cool to o things in space is way, way down the list.
