The Gun-Grabbing Ghouls

Shannon Watts, the national head of Moms Want Action – the group of criminal-protection “activists” that serve as the shrill, hectoring front for Michael Bloomberg’s billions – had something to say about yesterday’s episode at Ohio State:

It was, of course, a car and knife attack.

  1. Me, personally? I have no guns to grab. At least, none I’m willing to admit to owning. Because then I’d be on a list of gun owners, should the gun grabbers ever have an excuse, such as Hurricane Katrina, to go door-to-door grabbing guns.

If Hillary had been elected, she might have convinced a Democrat Congress to adopt a Australian-style confiscation-with-compensation program. I’d have missed out on the compensation, having no guns to turn in. That they know of. So that wouldn’t affect me, either.

Wow, Emery, you’re right. Gun grabbing is not a problem. At least not for me. Because I don’t have any guns. That you know of.

  2. When was the last time you had your gun grabbed?

A friend would never ask, and a gentleman would never tell.

But I love it when liberals say “When did Hillary say she was coming for your guns?” Of course she didn’t. She’s not stupid. If she did, every non-urban Democrat in the country would be out of office in the next election.

She – and ever major coastal liberal – does, however, seek to get Heller overturned. Which would allow state, many local, and eventually the federal government to claim that the 2nd Amendment is a collective right, meaning that the collective can decide who gets ’em.

Which means you gun gets grabbed and melted down.

    Ouch.

  3. JD, me too, if I owned a gun, which I don’t, I would want it to be a H&K MP7A1. Of course I could never use it because I’m afraid of guns and the MP7A1 looks positively frightening!

  4. We have real world examples of how an extreme gun control regime would be implemented over time. In fact, we can see it in the US, in California, for example.
The number and types of guns you are allowed to own are reduced. The amount of ammunition you are allowed to posses is reduced. Restrictions are placed on who can possess a firearm. The ability of the state to forbid specific individuals from owning firearms is increased. Zoning and public health laws are used to reduce the places and times a gun can be legally operated (restrict the number of gun ranges).
When these actions have reduced the number of citizens who possess firearms to a small minority, mandate an Aussie-style confiscation.

  5. Emery, countless Americans have had guns grabbed by the restrictions we place on their sale. It costs money to get to an FFL dealer. When you get there, you find in Minnesota that you need to get a permit to purchase a gun (or get a carry permit), then a Brady check, and the FFL dealer is required to retain certain records basically forever. Yes, that’s included in the cost of your gun. Yes, that prices many out of firearms ownership.

And as others have noted, you can’t even purchase a firearm without far more onerous restrictions, and many places outright ban certain kinds of non-military firearms. Yes, guns are being grabbed, and the Brady Campaign is on record as endorsing far more of this.

  6. I used to own a gun(s), sadly all were lost in a boating accident. Lake gichi-gami if memory serves me correctly. I think the depth was on the order of 1300ft. Unfortunately my GPS was lost as well so I have no clue the exact coordinates.

  7. Abdul Razak Ali Artan brought a knife not knowing it would be a gun fight. The campus was well served by it’s police. Sadly some were hurt but there is no ultimate protection from lunacy.

  8. “America gives dangerous people guns ……” doesn’t get any more insightful than that. Imagine the follower who thinks Ms Watts is a clever leader ??

Bonus points to Emery for asking easy/simple questions

  9. Say, do you suppose Abdul Artan was subject to the same super-duper vetting process Obama has planned for the 100,000+ refugees he wanted to admit this year?
You would think that one of these mainstream “journalists” would find that to be an interesting question.

  10. Jethrene, it’s completely different. In this case, the perp was a juvenile when he came here, which would mean he didn’t have any government records to query. In other cases, adults who came here would have had flawed government records from the government that couldn’t, or wouldn’t, do anything to stop people trying to kill them.

  11. Bike you make an interesting point, Dahir Adan was a young immigrant who later wielded his knife at the mall in St. Cloud. Fortunately Falconer was there to stop him.

I’m finding it difficult to believe that the parents of Abdul or Dahir knew nothing about their propensities.

  12. Jethrene has laid the plan out clearly. Leftist reprobates know they cannot ban guns, so they have taken a page from the anti-infanticide movement.

You can have your guns, if you can get one..,which you can’t. And if you have some, you better have the ammo to pass along to your heirs; because they aren’t getting any more.

I can see a day when you will have to submit a fingerprint to buy lead which will cost as much as gold. And brass shell casings will be serialized.
