Shot in the Dark

Planning!

A friend of the blog writes:

On the neighborhood Facebook page, someone was noting concern over the camps being set-up on the MNDOT green space at Snelling and I94. She then commented that she found out the city had loosened regulation on homeless camps and panhandling.

A few months ago, I mused that the excessive green space being advocated for in poor neighborhoods must be for starting “Colemanvilles.” I may have been more right than I thought.

If there is a positive to something like this, maybe meddling south of the freeway folks will stay away?

The correspondent is referring to the plague of plush-bottomed “progressive” activist yoohoos who live in tony, Subaru-sodden Merriam Park, south of I94, who seem to like to use the Midway, north of 94, as a social laboratory to romp and play in.

I was in downtown St Paul last week. Drove by the homeless shelter across from the Excel Center. Dozens and dozens of homeless people laying around the building, alongside the streets, everywhere. I wouldn’t be surprised if there were a couple of hundred homeless just sitting around outside.
We have all very liberal Democrats on the city council, the mayor, the governor, US House, both Senators, all statewide offices, the most liberal Democrat President ever. How come creative types aren’t making movies about the extreme poverty that exists under Democrat leadership.
The visuals and imagery would be easy to do. Show Obama golfing, show Chris Coleman going to Germany on a junket, show the rich of Summit Ave at parties, show the city council doing stupid things like passing resolutions praising the slaughter of immigrants by native Minnesotans in 1862 and banning Donald Trump from St Paul, then show the 2 or 3 hundred homeless sitting outside in downtown St Paul.

Well, geez Chuck. I think that we should encourage those poor homeless people to move to the front of the Democrats new Taj Mahal. We could hand out flyers that proclaim Tom Bakk, Paul Thissen, Bobbie Champion and Scott Dibble will be buying them a free hot lunch. Then we sit back and watch the fireworks.

Maybe we should call it “Daytonville” instead?

Chuck, did you notice the new building going up on Main Street, right next to the Dorothy Day Center? Another homeless shelter. Massive, several stories tall, a whole block long.

Catholic Charities – yes, those Evil Catholics – are doing the Good Work that Democrats can’t seem to get around to doing.

Personally, I’d be happier if they handed out one-way bus tickets to Alabama but given the non-stop flood of Chicago refugees coming on the Mega Bus, I doubt it would help much.
