But Wait!

Joe Doakes from Como Park emails:

Minnesota Continuing Legal Education is presenting a seminar on Gun Law.  Brochure is here:

$295 is a chunk of dough for a person who doesn’t practice law in this area, and can’t write off the cost as a business expense.

But the “Can’t Attend” box says the written materials are available for $75 and sometimes the local law library buys a copy that you can examine for free.

 I’ll look into it.

It’s only worth it if it’s free, Joe.

  1. No loot has arrived yet, Swiftee, nor any call-back from Pillsbury United Communities, but it’s early days.

Remember the .22 rifle I bought at the Fire Station 17 Swap Meet? (That wasn’t the official title, but that’s what it amounted to since the cops had no money but people in line did). I took it to the gun club last night and ran across a class teaching local 4H members to shoot .22 rifle. Small group (many of their members are at the State Fair) but it was heartening to see a mix of boys and girls shooting. Kudos to the club members who were volunteering their time to mentor a new generation of shooters.

  2. Joe, any further attempts to contact Pillsbury United will be construed as raciss harassment. You got your answer.

I dropped a polite email to the Strib reporter, Liz Sawyer yesterday, inquiring if she might look into the discrepancies you noted. I got my answer too.

  3. Count me jealous of the guys at the gun club….there are few greater pleasures that can be enjoyed in public than to teach young ‘uns how to shoot.

I take it that the speakers’ list for this class is dominated by the left, not by the people who have actually written the laws passed in the past decade?

  4. Joe, we have shoots for local 4H members a couple of times a year at our sportsman’s club. We do some archery shoots with them as well. They really enjoy the opportunity we afford them and it’s darn fun working with these young folks!!
