Last night, you had your “Orange” events around selected parts of the Metro – or at least Eagan (a snug little suburban enclave) and the Stone Arch Bridge, the heart of the gentrified waterfront.
And yet in all your communications, you decry violence…where it’s happening, North Minneapolis.
So why didn’t you (plural) hold your march / event / vigil up there?

Anyone who thinks wearing orange is a way to prevent violence really needs to read up on Lord Mountbatten.

how racist is Rev Nord Bence? Orange is the color of oppression (see county lockup jump suits and increasingly prisons) – hell you might as well ask black males to willingly put on leg irons and then parade around in them. What kind of a vile racist would even think of this (I’m looking at you DG)?

Mr D…if I am going to wear orange in a march, it will be in Northern Ireland.
Why not in North Mpls? Same reason white lefty gay-rights crowd won’t support peoples of color…then they’d have to go to the scary part of town…you know, where all those guys with their pants down around their knees are. They are more comfortable driving the Prius’ to their neighborhood Whole Foods Coop.

In one of the Control Guns But Not the Criminals Awareness Day stories in the Strib yesterday a commenter wrote, “We are going to round up all the guns, even if we have to steal them from the owners, and melt them in a pot.”
I replied that breaking into a gun-owner’s home sounded like a good way to get shot, but that that would really serve to make the commenter’s point. My advice was to “Go for it.”
