A Fine Line Between Experiment And Lunacy

Joe Doakes from Como Park emails:

Immigrants are good for Minnesota: they bring us exciting new possibilities, interesting insights, exotic diseases such as tuberculosis.

“An alternative public health policy–one that the United States used for decades in the latter part of the nineteenth century and early twentieth century–is to test immigrants and refugees for infectious disease before they are allowed into the country.

In that earlier era, those who tested positive were sent home. Today, however, many are welcomed in and pose a risk of infecting the rest of the American population.”

So – is America a melting pot, or is it a Petri dish?

See if there aren’t health and safety standards for them.

Then let’s talk.

  1. We are entering an era of retro health fashions. Democrats pine for the days of the Dickensian health slum, why else would they work so hard to decriminalize behavior that spreads syphilis and gonorrhea (with their emerging antibiotic resistant strains), or permit the unimpeded flow of migrants with zika, TB, chikugunya and the various Central American Haemoragic fevers like dengue, Lassa, Lujo virus, Junin virus, and the arenavridae ( Bolivian, Brazilian and Venezuelan )? Some of them (I’m looking at you Sierra Club) long for a world wide epidemic as the only reasonable way to bring the world population down to the 1.5 billion they believe is optimal. A population level they feel must be restored to before the end of this century.
Its not a coincidence that you will hear from recent Mpls public school graduates statements like “Humanity is a virus that has infected the planet”.

  2. Spreading disease has never been something Leftists in positions of authority have shied from. HIV-AIDS could have, and would have been easily eradicated in America. The snag is the behaviors that are responsible for 72% of new infections are the signature activities that have become the load bearing wall of the Democrat party. Not only have leftists protected the right to engage in those nasty, unhealthy behaviors, they have actively encouraged public school kids to “explore” them. As a result, people 25 and under account for the overwhelming majority of new HIV cases.

Yes, they literally traded kids lives to maintain their power.

According to the CDC, 66% of new TB cases in the past 2 years were detected in foreign born residents. Asians claim the top spot, followed closely by Latinos. Also, there are concentrated hot spots among immigrants from Africa; Somalia and Ethiopia especially. If you think there is 1 leftist that will blink an eye when TB becomes a part of our lives again you are really deluded.

That doesn’t mean I think there’s an ice cube’s chance in hell anyone will do anything to stop it. We’re far beyond the ability to look after our own best interests.

So I’m working on a designer face mask. It won’t really help, but it will be a must-have item for hip, health conscious Millennials..watch for me on Shark Tank. I think Kevin O’Leary will really appreciate the opportunity to make a bundle from a tragedy.

  3. Swiftee, CDC data indicate about 75% of infections are due to male-male sex and intravenous drug use, and I would suspect that a goodly portion of the other 25% transmitted heterosexually involve hookers. So I would guess that about 95% of infections are preventable if people would just stop shooting up and hopping from bed to bed.

Same thing with immigration–tell me exactly why a doctor’s visit isn’t required to immigrate again, along with a basic background check? Do we really so lack sick people and criminals that we need to import them?

  4. At Ellis Island, coughing in line was enough to put you back on the boat. Just sayin.’
