  1. Nah, Mitch – this isn’t feminism at all.

No feminist thinks men should make less or that it is solidarity with feminism to make less, or that it is feminist to be a mooch (male OR female).

This is more conservative rubbish that willfully tries to distort what feminism actually is as a perspective or economic and political philosophy.

Equal pay for equal work — what a shame this concept scares conservative men so badly. Fair is fair. And each person exercising their abilities to the maximum, regardless of gender, especially antiquated and inaccurate conservative notions about gender, especially gender limitations.

  2. DG,

Q: How many feminists does it take to change a light bulb?
A: Only one, and it’s not funny.

Equal pay for equal work — what a shame this concept scares conservative men so badly.

Don’t flatter yourself. Nobody, male or female, is my equal. It’s not because of their gender. It’s because I am me, and I kick ass.

In the real world, men and women of equal experience get pretty much the same pay. If you take two thirty-one-year-olds, both ten years out of college, one of whom has been working for ten years and the other of whom took two years off to raise kids, who SHOULD get more money?

I specify “in the real world” because I have a sneaking suspicion you don’t actually work in the real vocation world. Do you?

  3. That’s typical of your dog crap, DG.

Please look at the fact that your dear leader King Barackus Obamanus pretty much runs a boys club, with women just being there for window dressing and being paid as much as 30% less than men doing the same jobs. Of course, this either slips under the radar or more likely, completely ignored by you left wing moon bats that subscribe to revisionist history.

If you were honest, you would acknowledge the historical facts that Democrats were against a. women’s suffrage, b. equal rights for blacks and their ability to vote and c. Integration of public institutions. But, we all know that there isn’t a snowball’s chance in hell that you would do so.

  4. “I have a sneaking suspicion you don’t actually work in the real vocation world. Do you?”
DG runs a puppy mill where the bitches have to do all the work

  5. If women were REALLY paid $.77 on the dollar that men make, why on earth is every man not unemployed, saving businesses 23% in labor costs? Because male bosses are so sexist that they’d rather lose that kind of money than pay a woman the same amount?

    AYFKM?

  6. Bill C – I can’t believe that I have never heard it put that way before.

That is – all seriousness, here – brilliant.

    I’m gonna borrow that.

  7. Not to belittle Bill, but I believe Walter Williams has noted that very thing in his elegant, and rather brusque, way. It bears repeating, really.

I bet Hilliary, if elected (God forbid), would ask for a pay cut to show solidarity with her feminist, underpaid sisters. Don’t you think?

  8. bb: What can I say? Great minds and all that!

(kidding, I have read that argument being made elsewhere previously, maybe it was someone quoting Williams, maybe it was Williams himself…but still, it’s an elementary enough concept that it shouldn’t require a cite)
