Adrift

Joe Doakes from Como Park emails:

Justice Scalia says separation of church and state isn’t Constitutional law and shouldn’t be used to purge religion from the public eye.  I’d go farther and suggest the lack of shared moral behaviors is destroying the country.  If some of the country thinks it’s just fine to give false testimony against their neighbors (UVA “rape” scandal) and to covet their neighbors’ goods (Bernie Sanders), then the rest of the country never can be certain when they’ll be the next target, when they’ll lose their job to a false accusation, when their bank account will be looted, when their children’s future will be threatened.  And how does a nation obtain shared moral behaviors?

When you ask “atheists” “why is murder wrong”, and they (many of them) start with “it just is

, dude”, and work their way down to photomemes about how dumb Christians are, I’d say we’ve got a problem.

  1. “it just is, dude” may be an argument worth using with my 4 year old nephew, but it won’t pass muster with my 7 year old nephew.
If an atheist can’t come up with a better argument against murder, I highly suggest they read Ayn Rand.

  2. The Anglican communion is meeting in Canterbury this week, and the money says it will split the bedsheets between the North Hemisphere Run what ya brung, homo church, and the far more numerous Southern Hemisphere Cause God said so church.

And even though they can only claim the rump (pun intended), the debauched liberals can, and will, claim a big victory.

On a related matter, and one of interest to the SITD Irregular Militia, gun grabbing, America hating leftists have started to mimic the tactics that successfully relegated smokers to the public stocks.

It’s a public health hazard duuude

If gun ownership is a matter of public health, why isn’t unclean sexual habits? AIDS has killed 25.3 million just since 2000. In 2014, an estimated 36.9 million people were living with HIV, at an average cost of $25,000 per year, per person. The public is paying the price both financially and socially.

Intravenous drug use has long been declared a hazard to public health. Needle users don’t have a flag to hang on the front of their houses. Obama didn’t illuminate the White House with a multi-colored syringe.

Only the Gay Mafia and their leftist enablers have kept buggery from being properly defined. Next time a leftist tells you your guns are a public health hazard, it’s incumbent on you to remind them their best bet is to STFU.

  3. Americans have a long history of trusting people in lab coats. The major reason low-information voters believe in Global Warming because a (fanfare) SCIENTIST said so.

Liberals reason that they’ll have the CDC study homicide as a public health issue and find a (fanfare) DOCTOR to say guns are bad.

Oh, a (fanfare) DOCTOR said so? Well, that’s it, then. No additional thought required. Go ahead and ban ’em.

I don’t think it will work as well as they suppose. The Global Warming fiasco cast doubt on scientists credibility, the vaccine fiasco casts doubt on doctors credibility, and gun-grabbing politicians in general lack credibility. It’s one more stick for the media to beat us with, but it won’t really convince anybody.
