Who Knew?

Some European countries aren’t having epochal refugee crises:
Other countries without an extensive welfare state don’t seem to have Sweden’s problem. Reuters reported that Lithuania “is throwing its doors open to refugees fleeing war and hardship in the Middle East, but is finding few takers.” Rimantas Vaitkus, deputy chancellor of the Lithuanian government, told the news agency: “We are prepared to accept refugees immediately, but there are no refugees in Italy or Greece who agreed to resettle in Lithuania. . . . It seems that refugees know about Sweden, Germany, France, the United Kingdom, which either have generous social security or have been actively attracting immigrants.”
Huh.
There simply must be some mistake.

So its kind of like “refugees” from Chicago setting up camp in Wisconsin and Minnesota (especially around the first of the month), but not to states with less generous handouts.

You’ve got that right, Chuck!
I’ve said this before, but it can’t be exposed enough. Just go to any post office or business that rents p.o. boxes on the day the welfare checks get out. and see all of the vehicles with Illinois plates in the lots. Of course, since the libidiots made it easier for loafers to steal funds by issuing EBT cards, the numbers have dropped.

Of interest to me, the Czech Republic has barred the door to “immigrants”. Looks like they’re going to let my wife and daughter in, though. Slovakia looks like it’s own version of a goat rodeo, though, which is a place we were thinking of driving through. Those plans might change.

What was that that Friedman said–you can have open borders or a welfare state, but not both–at least not for long?

Wisconsin is working to pass a law to crackdown on welfare fraud. Its very reasonable and fair. The Democrats are throwing a fit. In the bizarroo world of Democrats, they don’t care if the free money makes it primarily to those in need. They are stomping their feet and trying to block a very reasonable law to help cut down on fraud. I made the mistake of reading the comment sections of the Wisconsin State Journal and Milwaukee Journal.
It seems that the left only cares about winning. It doesn’t matter what the subject is. Their goal is only to win.
