Culture Of Failure

Joe Doakes from Como Park emails:

Sanctions are imposed on outlaws; only legitimate governments enter into international agreements.

The starting point for the Iran Deal was the US had to recognize the Rouhani Regime – the successor of the people who stormed our embassy in 1979 and held our people hostage 444 days – as the legitimate government of Iran.

President Obama is exploring diplomatic relations but we don’t get our embassy back – it’s now a hate-America museum.

With awesome results like these, I want John Kerry negotiating for me on my next used car purchase.  What could go wrong?

You could be driving a Pontiac Aztek, that’s what.

  1. You could be driving a Pontiac Aztek, that’s what.

Comment of the week and good thing I wasn’t drinking anything when I read that.

  2. A Pontiac Aztek with a “Choose Peace” bumper sticker. And if you don’t like it, you’ll be called a warmonger in league with hard-line theocracies such as the mullahs and the GOP (neither of which this Administration have shown much negotiating savvy).

  3. Kerry has plenty of experience with hate-America museums, having secured a place of honor at such in Saigon – been there, done that.

  4. Add to it I’m hearing “Xmas in Cambodia” Kerry will be formally opening our embassy in Havana in the next couple of days.

  5. JPA, maybe Fidel will present CIC Kerry with the coveted Che Guevera Hero of the Revolución medal.

Take the place of the bogus Silver Star he threw away.

  6. Obama reminds me of a boss (a division manager) I had. Like Obama, he was one of these people so convinced of his own superiority that he would routinely claim that he was a better at selling than the salesperson calling on the customer; or better at purchasing than our purchasing staff; or better at labor negotiations than our HR people. He would make really terrible deals just so he could come back from a supplier or customer or employee negotiation and claim the he “got the deal done”. Later when his “deal” had fallen apart, alienated suppliers or customers or employees; someone else – often me – was sent in to mop up the mess, take the blame and try to explain our company’s actions. The business just got worse and eventually was sold by the owner to a smaller competitor. Not shockingly – the last I heard, my old boss was running an even larger company into the ground. Having the title of CEO on the resume` is like a license to steal from ownership.

  7. “President Obama is exploring diplomatic relations”

Not to drift too far here but I have to wonder if O isn’t opening up relations with Cuba so he can make a deal later with the regime to give back Guantanamo and get the closure of the prison that he so desires before he departs the scene.

  8. JPA at one of my contracts Dilbert was considered an instruction manual for management. See a hairbrained scheme in Dilbert one week – Read it in a memo the next.

  9. JPA: :^). I’ve actually been saying exactly that for years. We must work together, too, or at least go to church or Shul together. :^)

I personally wonder whether Obama is trying to get an invitation to hide out at Fidel’s private island, which apparently makes Ted Turner’s ranches and Hollywood mansions look rather humble in comparison. I get differences in policy, but what he’s doing really makes me wonder what color the sun is on his planet.
