They Bought Themselves An Internet

The FCC’s new internet rules cite a Soros-funded front group dozens and dozens of times:

New internet regulations finally released by the Federal Communications Commission make 46 references to a group funded by billionaire George Soros and co-founded by a neo-Marxist…The term “Free Press” is mentioned 62 times in the regulations. Some are redundant mentions referring to the same Free Press activists’ comments in favor of more oversight. In total, the FCC cited Free Press’ pro-net neutrality arguments 46 times.

The FCC received more than 4 million public comments as it was weighing the net neutrality initiative, but Free Press and other activist groups have received the most attention by pressuring the FCC and the White House on behalf of their cause.

The Obama Administraiton is the most transparently corrupt administration in history.

  1. They didn’t buy ‘sh**’. They took it. The only thing they bought was protection.
To quote Lord Churchill (on an occasion when a Labour Socialist asked why Churchill always went to the opposite end of the restroom from him to piss): “Whenever you see something large you try to nationalize it.”
When I was a kid, we had a rotary dial telephone and telephone service provided by a highly regulated monopoly. When we received a “long distance” call, like from my grandparents who lived 250 miles away, we ran and got our parents because the long distance charges were (artificially) expensive and not something to be wasted on children.
Today, my children think nothing of calling their grandparents who live 750 miles away using their personal hand held device that has no dial (not even buttons) and there is no such thing as long distance rates. This innovation came not from the government which highly regulated the ‘phone’ business, but from free enterprise and revulsion at the idea that government knows best.
PS: One upside: Under the current regime, one can invest in the connected companies in the short term that have doled out the slush for the slush funds and do better than the average schlub though not as well as the cronies who ‘manage’ these enterprises into the ground in the long term.

  2. Well, that would explain why the regulations were enacted before they were released to the public. I wonder if that makes a strong case for those suing to repeal the regulations, seeing that portions were lifted from an advocacy group?

  3. I really don’t get why someone who experienced Naziism and Communism firsthand (Soros) funds so many communistic endeavors. You would figure he would know better.
