Mugged
By Mitch Berg
Jon Stewart is leaving the Daily Show.
Wherever shall I get my daily dose of smug mugging for the camera…:

…in front of an audience of trained chimpanzees who’ve been conditioned to respond on cue?
Colbert, I guess…

in front of an audience of trained chimpanzees
That comparison seems really unfair to chimpanzees.

Brian Williams has been in contact with the Daily Show producers. I can report that he left the following message: “Let me get this straight. I get paid to make stuff up?”

Limbaugh, a guy who specializes in banter, gets kicked out of an NFL gig, but Stewart, a comedian by vocation, gets offered the big chair on Meet the Press. What a world.

Not that I have to tell SITDers….but its amazing how many people think this show is real news, and also….and this is the scary part……they get almost (if not all) 100% of their “news” from this show. Oh, and did I say that everyone I’ve meet who thinks this, votes Democrat?
“I saw on Jon Stewart last night……….”

Whenever I see someone refer to something they saw on the Daily Show or Last Week during a political discussion, I remind them that whenever Stewart, Oliver, etc. has been seriously confronted during an interview about the truth or accuracy of what they’ve said, they invariably say “I’m an entertainer/comedian.” So if they won’t stand behind what they’ve said, why should you rely on it?
