  1. Hopefully the clerk recovers not only physically, but also mentally. I’m told it’s no fun to be responsible for the death of another, no matter how guilty that other person is.

And hopefully the thugs of the world take note that sometimes the $8/hour clerk at the gas station may not only be armed, but might also be a pretty good shot even with a bullet in his leg.

BTW, Thomas Sowell has apparently found evidence that the violent crime rate is dropping quickly in Illinois now that that state has 60,000 non-criminals (read non-politicians) with carry permits. To be honest, I’m slightly surprised, given that Illinois has a high bar for a carry permit (lots of training & cost of permit), while the worst neighborhoods are those where people are least able to afford such things. But hey, if I’m wrong and people are safer than I expected, I’m glad to be wrong!

  2. Ronnie Lawson, 21, and Antonio Gracia, 23, died shortly after running from the store……………..No tears shed !!

The Canton Police Department announced detectives obtained warrants to charge Darrnell Newman, 19, with complicity to felonious assault, aggravated robbery and two counts of aggravated murder………..Bye-Bye !!

  3. So much thug stuff being recorded now. Check out Memphis Kroger’s on youtube. Dozens of black thugs attacking white grocery store clerks. You can find much along similar lines all over the place, hiphopnation, etc. Best not to be in such areas but if you work there, man. Keep your head up and call in airstrikes.

  4. I was reading a report earlier today that shows that most of the permits issued in Illinois have been to people in the middle and upper class neighborhoods. I think the author was trying to suggest that the “poor and black” are being denied permits but the report does suggest that given the $600+ registration fee and 16-hour training requirement it’s likely that the poor folks are just not applying in the first place. Is a right still a right if you can’t afford to exercise it?

  5. Excellent point, Night. These are the same politicians who wail that we can’t require voters to show free state-issued photo ID because it’s an infringement on a fundamental right. I wonder how a $600 poll tax would go over?
