Guns and Hoses

By Johnny Roosh

Americans are pissed – and rightfully so – that taxpayers got shafted in the AIG debacle, 90% tax rates and givesies backsies notwithstanding. Wait’ll ya see what happens when there’s a burglar outside or a fire burning inside their home…

…and no one shows up.

we are just starting to see the unraveling of public pension systems that could well shake some of society’s basic foundations. Policemen, policewomen, firefighters, teachers and other public employees form the backbone of society. Many of these people happily take jobs offering lower wages in return for the psychic income of public service and, of equal importance, the financial income of a generous pension when they retire.

…expect a wave of [municipal] bankruptcies over the next decade as municipal pension plans get washed away by a tsunami of demographics and breakthroughs in longevity. In New York City, the average policeman retires at full pension at 48 years old and can expect to be paid over $2.1 million during the remainder of his life. In Houston, city workers can retire at full pension at 45 years old.

A generation of politicians agreed to absurd promises to public workers because they knew it would be some other politician’s problem.

And to whose feet shall we lay the blame for this?

Conservatives?

Not so much. Try again.

Still looking for an issue, eh? Pretty sure the whole “Democrats cut tax receipts to the bone, so we can’t pay for essential services” thing is gonna fly. But you’re desperate. You have to try everything, I suppose.

“Lower wages” in return for “psychic income”? Ha! You’re killing me here, Johnny Roosh.
They form the “”backbone of society”? Never heard of a leach with a backbone.

  3. Chuck Says:

Actually in some cases they get both, high wages and golden pensions. My aunt, elementry school teacher, made pretty good money teaching, then got to retire at age 56 with full lifetime pay and benies.

  4. Loren Says:

yeah, the whole ‘lesser wages now for better retirement’ schtick is and has been false for years. Now it’s better wages and a better retirement.

    Who needs cops?

“A South Florida man is recovering after being shot while stopping a robbery at Miami Burger King.”

“It happened late Tuesday afternoon [yesterday] when an armed man wearing a ski mask stormed into the restaurant on Biscayne Boulevard and 54th Street and demanded money.”

“A good Samaritan inside the Burger King had a concealed weapons permit. He confronted the robbery suspect at which time shots were fired,” said Miami police spokesman Jeff Giordano. “There were a lot of people inside the Burger King, he may have saved lives. It was a brave act.”

“The would be robber was killed..”

This guy got shot himself, which points out the necessity of removing the legal restrictions against body armor for public use.

  6. Bill C Says:

There are legal restrictions against any Joe Schmoe wearing body armor? You gotta be kidding me.

What, are the cops supposed to strip search you and write you a ticket if they see a funny bulge? Is that Kevlar weave or are you just happy to see me?

What, are body armor manufacturers and distributors only allowed to sell to law enformcement personnel?

  7. angryclown Says:

Same week four Oakland cops are killed. Shiftee loses 4-1.

  8. swiftee Says:

Hey AssClown, Oakland is right in the heart of liberal la-la land; I don’t want any part of it….it’s all yours ya goofy mook.
